The RFC had 5 representatives playing in the annual Stuart Clarke Cup – unusually all playing in different teams – even more unusually in adequately warm and dry weather! 

After last weeks’ success Kon Tomczyk (playing with Ian Bailey & JY Robic) had an uncharacteristically ropey day winning 2 games and ending the morning in 10th place.  Barbara Vaughan (playing with Karen MacLeod and Bob Pugh) also had a trickier day winning 2 games and ending up in 9th place after the morning.  Tansy Mayfield (playing with Gemma Foster & Julie Bailey) had exactly the same kind of day! As with last week they were in 5th place after the morning missing out on the semis by 1 point (1 point closer than last week – but that does not make it any more satisfying!).  Pat Daviss, still suffering with her knee, had a tougher week on the rougher ground ending up in the 12th spot. 

Peter Beresford, playing with Gay Murphy and Stewart Spencer had the best day of the RFC players: a clean sweep in the morning put them in top spot  with 4 wins, leaving them to play 4th placed Wenvoe Raiders in the semi finals.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for Peter’s team and they lost out on a place in the final.
