The first round of the WPA Cup for Clubs takes place this Sunday. At the AGM seven players said they were keen to be involved (Pat Daviss, Ray Williams, Mike North, Dai Bevan, Wally, Paul Mayfield, and Tansy Mayfield) and Peter Beresford had already registered his interest. Kon and Barbara were keen to play but weren’t available for this first round. Tansy agreed to act as captain again, with Dai Bevan as her wingman/evil henchman - and everyone who expressed an interest will be playing in the competition. Exact details for the day have not been given yet – but good luck to the RFC!

Sunday 10th of March sees the annual President’s Cup taking place at the Wheatsheaf, and the following Sunday sees the Stuart Clarke Cup at the Wenvoe Inn. The Veteran’s competitions (open to over 55s) takes place on the 24th March at Monkstone Penylan. These competitions are open to all WPA members, all comps are for teams of 3 or 4, and entries can be put in by post or electronically (with accompanying cheque – see WPA website for details of this).

After a short break for Easter (or a break for those who are not going to go hoofing off across the country in search of competitions) the Grand Prix series starts on Sunday 7th April.
