The RFC fielded 4 players for the WPA triples. Kon Tomczyck & Peter Beresford played with Stewart Spencer, Tansy Mayfield played with Julie Bailey & Gemma Foster, whilst Barbara Vaughan played with Karen McLeod & Gloria Davies. Kon, Peter and Stewart had the best morning of the RFC teams winning 2 games to win through to the top 8 in 3rd position. Tansy’s team won only one of their 3 games in a tough group but scraped through to the main competition in 8th place on points difference. Barbara’s team had a more difficult time, going through to the Plate competition despite some good play from an untried team. Tansy’s team were beaten for a second time by number one seeds, Ian Bailey, Neil Dobbins & Cyril Royer leaving them with a quarter final exit.  Kon’s team also lost in the quarters to Jake Caston, Jean-Yves & Jesse Robic-Lipetz.  Congratulations to winners Phil Bradshaw, Glynn Atley & Steve Brace who beat Ian’s team in the Final to take the title.
