Caerleon RFC Petanque is a competitive but friendly club: old and new players are very welcome to come along for a game. Petanque is a game that can be played by men and women, older people and children on an equal footing - so come to one of our melees and give it a try. Boules can be borrowed from the club. Grand Prix Report and Traingular report added to News. 3 RFC members played in the Celtic Challenge over May Day weekend. The annual tournament was held at Pickie Bowling Club in Bangor, Co. Down. Tansy Mayfield (playing with Ian and Julie Bailey as Wales 1 for the 2nd year), and Peter Beresford and super-sub Kon Tomczyck (playing with Gay Murphy as Wales 4) made the trip over the Irish sea for this friendly but tough competition. Scotland played well throughout and grabbed 1st place for the 2nd year in a row. Wales had to be content with 3rd place, nipped there by Ireland A who gained one game more. It was a disappointing result for Wales who should have been in contention for first place - but I am pleased to say that the Caerleon sides did their bit for the effort with both teams winning 8 of their 12 games - very respectable. Many thanks to Pickie, the IPA and George Davidson for their hard work and good hospitality.
Reports from the Easter weekend and Whitnash triples have been added to News.
