Caerleon RFC Petanque is a competitive but friendly club: old and new players are very welcome to come along for a game.

Petanque is a game that can be played by men and women, older people and children on an equal footing - so come to one of our melees (a sociable, 'joiner' game) and give it a try - they run every Thursday through spring and summer.  For further information - see melee page.

This site is now mainly an archive for PAST events and news.  For up to date information - particularly about club events find us on facebook at

About the club: Caerleon RFC Petanque Club was established in 2005, and is affiliated to the Welsh Petanque Association. We have teams playing in both the WPA Welsh League and the local Boules in Gwent (BiG) League - and Club players have represented Wales and Great Britain in major competitions in the UK and abroad.

 ---------------------LATEST NEWS HEADLINES--------------------

One week to go to our BASTILLE MELEE! on Saturday 8th July 2017 - the biggest, best and most ridiculous event in our calendar: we have 49 people registered already, with players from Hampshire, Sweden, and Kent as well as the locals.

You'll be pleased to hear that the RFC is open early and showing the Lions game - so come down early, cheer on the Lions πŸ‰ πŸ† πŸ‰and then out for Bastille!

Melee registration is 10.30 for an 11am start. It's a fiver to enter, which includes at least 4 games and a generous buffet lunch. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged - even if its just a stripy top (although we have had some corking outfits in the past).

Handing over cold hard cash to myself (Tansy) or Barbara guarantees your place! contact us via the Caerleon facebook page for more info.

Speak to Tansy or Barbara or email us at caerleon.petanque@yahoo.co.uk
