Welcome to the home of the Brodaty Beardies. We live on the outskirts of Southampton near the New Forest. It all started ten years ago when my husband came home with an advert for Beardie pups in the local paper. He'd always wanted a Beardie, but we already had two dogs, both elderly, so I wasn't sure. We went to see the remaining puppy, leaving all our money at home so we wouldn't make any rash decisions!! We were smitten and Sophie said we could take her home with her papers and send her a cheque. She thought we would be perfect Beardie owners. So Pellosa Gimlet Girl came to stay. She was shortly joined by two rehomed Beardies, Kirsty and Marlow. Sadly both these lovely Beardies have left for the Rainbow Bridge
In 2003 we decided to have a litter from Lila and as a Stud Dog we chose Bethlyntee Bannock Sh.CM after seeing him at Southern Counties Bearded Collie Club Open Show. He has a superb temperament, a very gentle nature, and is very intelligent. All qualities we wanted in our Beardies. Lila had eight lovely puppies. We kept two, a slate bitch, Ellie, B. Midsummer Breeze and a brown dog, B. Midsummer Sunrise. Both have excelled in the showring and Ellie enjoys Heelwork to music.
In 2006 we were joined by Tilly, Braddabrook Osanna at Brodaty, bred by Una Cornthwaite. She too has been successful in the showring and excells at Agility.
Sadly on 8th March 2007 my husband "Kedge" passed away very suddenly. He loved his dogs and all the friends we met through the various activities with the dogs. I miss him terribly, but I hope to carry on with our plans. The photo above was taken overlooking Ullswater in the Lake District. We had promised ourselves another trip there as it is so beatiful there. Perhaps one day I'll take the dogs back for another visit.
