During the spring of 2019 The Brabin’s Trust organised a series of art workshops for pupils from Brabin’s Endowed Primary School and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School under the leadership of the Design and Technology Department at Longridge High School.
The initial workshop included an illustrated walk and talk around the village with Chipping Local History Society. The story of John Brabin was brought to life with the use of historical information and images. Artwork was then produced using observed and gathered images.
Sketches and watercolour illustrations were developed further on computer in Adobe Photoshop. Some images were quite figurative whilst others grew more abstract.
The artwork that has been produced will be used to illustrate publicity material for the Brabin’s Trust.
The Trust would like to thank and acknowledge the following for making these workshops possible: Chipping Local History Society, pupils and staff of Brabin’s Endowed Primary School and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, Chipping, Mr. L. Price of the Design and Technology Department, Longridge High School, D&AW Creative Graphics Blackburn.
