Margaret Elphinstone

Margaret Elphinstone has published eight novels as well as short stories and poetry. Her fiction is characterised by people on journeys to places on the edge – islands, frontiers - where cultures and ideas meet and evolve. Her novels have featured journeys in North Atlantic waters ('Voyageurs' and 'Sea Road') and a mythical Atlantic Island (Hy Brasil). Her forthcoming novel, 'The Gathering Night'. is set on the west coast of Scotland in Mesolithic times, 8000 years ago.
