Black History is a term that can mean different things to different people:

Black History Month was established in the US to recognise the achievements of African Americans and to recognise the trauma experienced by the community over the years.

In the UK Black History refers to the mainly African Caribbean people who moved to the 'Home Country" after the Second World War and are now referred to as 'The Windrush Generation'. Also the history of Black People who lived in UK in previous centuries back to the time of the Roman invasion. The leading role Britain played in the TransAtlantic Slave Trade, its eventual abolition and then Invasion / Colonialisation of so many countries around the world to create the British Empire - this also comes under the focus of Black History, but probably should be seen as an integral part of British History.

Black History does not have a useful meaning in Africa, as the history of the Empires of the continent, the coming of Europeans and the invasion / colonisation and the years of independence, are all part of African History.  Each African country has its own history.

During Black History Month, people in Canada celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Black Canadians and their communities who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada the culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous nation it is today - Wikipeadia

In Jamaica, Black History Month follows the US model, but it is also the time for Reggae Month and Jamaica Day is celebrated annually by schools and communities.

Blak History Month in Australia: "On this 26th Day of January 2008, in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the proclamation of Survival day, it is hereby announced that the month of July 1-31st is now proclaimed Blak history month in Australia." - and so it began.
