Surveys and Schooltime

Happy New Year!

Our staff have just completed the second stage of a five season survey of habitats and wildlife at the Riverside Complex owned and managed by Chester-le-Street District Council.  It is obvious to us that the management undertaken by Julie Lewcock and her staff are having an increasing effect to the benefit of plants, animals and the physical environment of the site.  Certain "institutionalised" actions carried out by other arms of the Local Authority are likely to change the habitats present with no apparent rationale behind the change.  These unscripted impacts upon the site will be addressed in a meeting towards the end of the month.

Schools are eager to get back into the swing of things after the holidays.  We are currently helping them with five bids for BBC Breathing Places money, lets hope they are winners, there is such a lot to do.

Seashore and marine work also starts again this month.  The teaching and investigation of this fantastic range of habitats at this time of year is really an eye opener.  Life on the seashore and below is fantastic now but most people miss out by staying at home by the fire.

Our Staff are working hard to push forward AgroTech America product development but it has been very slow, most of the Northern hemisphere seems to be in hibernation.  Local and multinational firms, who stand to gain multi million pound contracts from the work, are very slow to respond.   Does anyone out there want to do business anymore?   Seems to me (Paul) that folks are happy plodding along in the groove takiing no action  means not having to stress about it.  Management seems to be too complacent - find out what your research and sales managers are NOT DOING, not what they are.

Enought of my gripes, we are busier than our bees, time to get on.
