I'm Hala Bentley and I have been creating music tests for well over twenty five years, originally on tape and now as .wav or mp3 files on CD or memory stick.

Having just added up all the compilations I've made since I started recording them properly, I find I'm about to make my 283rd CD - for Dan Greenwood, as it happens. (Amended Dec 2019 - over 360, now.)

I have an extremely large data base of music to suit all types of horse from the small and elegant to the ultimate powerhouse, and I add to it whenever I hear some piece of music to which a horse could dance.

My compilations have featured at the Paralympics, European Championships, BD regionals and Winter Championships, Wellington Advanced Medium Gala Evening, HOY Show, Pony Club, RDA and Express Eventing Championships from Novice to Grand Prix level but I also make CDs for unaffiliated competitions such as the BRC music championships and also music for fun displays!

I really enjoy creating CDs for horses and finding the best match for each pace, while ensuring that the walk, trot and canter music are of similar orchestration and musical genre to create a harmonious unity.

The complete service: £80 - novice to medium with a reduction for groups; £100 -  advanced medium and above, though I may charge more for a PSG or above with a very complex floor-plan.

- I can help with creating a floorplan to show your horse off to best advantage, though your trainer may be the best person to advise on this!

- I visit to video your horse's paces and the test

- I help you to select music which you, the judge and your horse will, hopefully, all like, if you haven't already chosen the tracks

- Having made the CD, I can vist a second time if required to watch you ride to the music and tweak it if necessary

- I supply the information needed for the BD music licence

(- If you are more than 75 miles from Oxford, my base, I may charge a little more for petrol).

For less money (£50, novice to medium; ask for a quotation above these levels):

If you send me a DVD of your test and your horse's paces and tell me what music you'd like I can make the CD and email or post it to you.  I prefer to visit, but have made successful CDs via DVD, WeTransfer or Youtube. Please ensure the video is in reasonable close-up, but don't cut off the horse's legs! Also add at least half minute free walk, half a minute trot (working for novice, collected above that level) on each rein, and half a minute canter on your horse's best rein.
