Sunday 31st October –

Our club was well attended by musicians; however the audience was the smaller than normal, it would be good if when bands are attending they try to take along at least a few “fans”.

CADILLAC

As per normal the house band opened with an excellent set comprising of Fast As You /Squeeze Box/Proud Mary/Claudette/Boot Scootin

The boys were joined on stage by Darren Howie  as the  bands normal bass player was off on a jolly. A  seamless  union .Well done Darren.

ARTHITIC  MONKIES

Welcome to the lads – played a great rock set Teenage kicks/You really got me/Paranoid/and the highlight for me a superb version of Led Zeppelins Rock n Roll with extraordinary lead guitar

Welcome back any time guys

FORCES OF NATURE

From the hard rocking to the gentle and laid back approach of this relatively new Aberdeen band. This acoustic set was very well received, however i don’t have any details of the songs as no one came to explain the set and give information. However I do know that at least a couple of the songs were self penned and all were performed to a very high standard. And they all looked as though they were enjoying them self well done. Acoustic guitars – cello – mandolin  and clear precise vocals.

Well done

HITCH A RYDE

June and colleague decided to play an acoustic set, a very well received change to the last time they played at ATOMIC. Personally i felt that the set they did suited June much better and let her know that was the opinion of the guys sharing the table i was sitting at. Once again I cannot give more details on the songs played as i have not been given the required information. However nuff to say the set was well thought out – relaxed and good to listen to.

GORDON DUTHIE

Again a change of pace – Gordon is well known in the Aberdeen area for his tribute to the shadows and he still rocks on after all this time. Great backing tracks and the lead well played.

The DAVE BREMNER (one of these day I will have my own band again) ENSEMBLE

I wasn’t feeling too well yesterday  and wasn’t going to play, but Dave Plenderleith rallied the troops and we took to the stage to play together for the first time.We tried to play  a version of Knocking On Heavens Door/A Horse With No Name/and two of my own songs Walk Away (the country version) and Outside (which was sand far too slow which was probably my fault) not my best set but i am glad we go up and gave it a go.

Neils band(awaiting correct name)

The guys in this band were gutted as by close of play their singer still hadn’t turned up. The drummer – bass player and guitar player were all keen to do something but without a singer they were stumped. In steps Big Ronz from Fubar and we were treated to a real  high class finish to what had been a good afternoons music.

Marc bolans – 20th century boy – opened the set which continued with Ronz reading the words of google on his mobile phone. Talk about being thrown in at the deep end. Great fun – great set .

Will be in touch with every one soon regarding the Christmas Party – lets get the number up and support all the acts be watching all the acts all the way through – thats what we are all about.

Good music – good company – good surroundings – good food   Thanks for all who took time to come to ATOMIC  see you soon

Next get together  - NOVEMBER  28TH
