 About my work

I have been creating and sewing OOAK doll clothes for Ball Joint Dolls for nearly 8 years. All of my creations are sewn from the finest natural fibers such as 100% silks, cottons, linens, and leather with only the highest quality synthetic fabrics being used as a substitute.  In addition, I prefer to use vintage laces (when available) and never use plastic trims on any garment.

Most pieces, those that come in direct contact with the doll's resin, are completely lined in 100% cotton or 100% china silk.  All exposed seams are Frenched, overcast, or serged making for a very finely tailored item.  In addition, I NEVER use glue to attach trims to a garment.  Every bead, pearl, sequin, and jewel will be completely hand sewn onto the clothing.   You will not find these qualities in any mass produced doll clothing on the market today.

I prefer to create garments for SD size dolls and larger, but will consider sewing for MSD size depending on the complexity of the project.

My speciality is historical garments and footwear with my favorite periods being 16th & 18th Centuries and the Victorian/Edwardian (Belle Epoc) Eras.  I try to remain true to the accuracy of the period garments.  However, sometimes alterations must be made in order to accomodate doll wearability.

Again, thank you for your consideration and choosing Atelier GiGi for your dollie’s dream wardrobe.

Merci Beaucoup!

GG
