The FPs were grateful to old rivals Arbroath Harp for the offer of changing accommodation at Mcdonald Park, as the showers at Hercules Den are inoperable. With glorious weather and a fine park, both teams missed the opportunity to produce a match worthy of the occasion. The first half was a fairly dour affair with the FPs missing some good chances and the Harp looking dangerous on the counter attack. The FPs lost Mclaren with a bad foot injury and he was replaced by Cowan who was back in his old stomping ground from his Harp days. It looked like it could be a long day for talismanic striker MATTY GALL, who had a "van vossen" moment when he missed the goals from a yard out from his cousin's cutback, but he persevered and he was eventually rewarded when converted a fine chance just before half time to make it 1-0 to the FPs.

     After a half time talk from Donnie Smith senior, the FPs started a bit brighter in the second half , and it was MICHAEL GALL who soon put the FPs  2-0 ahead after some fine work from Ferrier.  The game became a bit stretched at this point and Kidd went close after a fine run and shot which was well saved. The FPs then got a fortunate third goal after a high looping cross ball from Riddell was fumbled over the line by the Harp keeper, who had a fine game until this point. With the FPs 3-0 ahead, the Harp went all out for a goal, and CANT scored a header from a Harp corner to make it 3-1 with fifteen minutes left.The FPs then replaced the prolific Michael Gall, with Sharp who is on the come back from inury.  Despite some sustained attacks form the Harp and counter attacks from the FPs,  there was no further scoring.
      The FPs are at home in the second round   of North of Tay, they entertain Dundee Medical Students on the 31st October.
