'FP's pre season campaign got off to a winning start against local rivals Arbroath Harp.

 With both teams struggling to blow off the cobwebs chances were rare. The best chance of the half fell to 'Harp but Saundersons point blank save kept the scoreline goalless. 'FP's best chance fell to Ferrier who was thwarted by the 'Harp 'Keeper when put through one on one.

'FP's broke the deadlock midway through the 2nd half when a short corner by Ferrier was curled into the top corner by D.Smith. But this was a rare moment of class in a half dominated by hard tackling, blood and snotters.

The most pleasing part of the game was the performances of newcomers Dave Brown, John Cowie and youngster Darren Wilson for the 'FP's.
