Alty Hale 5-1 Bar Amp
14 March 2010

Alty Hale claimed their biggest win of the season against a poor Bar Amp side to break into the top 10 in the league. Things look ominous for the visitors as Paterson broke and rounded the keeper within 2 minutes with his 6th goal in 6 games since signing. A great run was followed by a calm finish by Davies, and Wain thumped Alty into a 3-0 lead before Amp claimed a fortunate goal from a free kick just before half time. The lead should have been far greater, with Boland, Paterson and Clamp missing several chances, but the second half proved much more frustrating for the Alty front men with 6 one on ones being missed before Boland tapped in and Paterson beat the keeper at the near post to give Alty a scoreline their dominating performance deserved. The defence and midfield looked sharp today, with the backline dealing with the Amp long ball tactics well, and the centre mid partnership of Wain and mom Warburton breaking up the opposition play excellently, however the whites will have to be a lot sharper in front of goal with more testing games around the corner.

Alty Hale: Madeley, Bannister, Aston, Smith, Hamlet, Calmp, Davies, Warburton, Wain, Boland, Paterson. Subs: White (for Davies).

Mom: Warburton
