This is a story which is literally hot off the wires.....Don McLellan, a member of the Alford Fiddlers and our resident composer, has just 'phoned me to let me know that he has won the Aberdeen Tune Writing Competition held today in Queen's Cross Parish Church under the auspices of the TMSA (Traditional Song and Music Association of Scotland). He composed  two tunes and has won the Competition on a number of previous occasions. Well done Don, and hearty congratulations from all of the Alford Fiddlers.
