At Acer House we believe that every member of staff forms part of the Recreation and Leisure team.  We will all do our utmost to ensure the ways will be found to enable you to play as full a part in Acer House life (and the wider community) as you would wish.

We offer you the opportunity to:
• Assist in running the home’s book/cd/dvd lending libraries. 
• Take part in many, many different craft activities.
• Participate in exercise, drama, music and singing sessions.
• Develop a satisfying and enjoyable activity programme.
• Prepare the home for a wide variety of celebrations and entertainments.
• Be “in it to win it” with  game/bingo/quiz sessions.
• Share….your life to date (reminiscence) the world today (current affairs discussion), the future (the changes, inventions, culture you would like to see or fear developing in the future).
• Be supported in continuing the daily living “chores”  that you enjoy – anything from dusting, laying tables and flower arranging to maintaining the garden, furniture restoration, making and mending.
• Choose and enjoy a variety of activities outside the home – places of interest, gardens, theatre, clubs, social gatherings, walks, bus and shopping trips.
• Learn new skills - or dust off and share old ones!
• Maintain and share your hobbies – or discover a new one…or two…..or three…or four….!

At Acer House it is our firm belief that life should be rich, fulfilling and filled with a sense of purpose – irrespective of age and physical or mental limitation.
