Highland Youth Convener Post

 Highland Council are starting to look for a new Highland Youth Convener to take over when Gillian Slider (the current Youth Convener)’s busy term ends on 12th September 2008. Highland Council are hoping for the next Youth Convener to start on 1st September 2008. This will allow he/she the opportunity to shadow Gillian for 2 weeks before Gillian moves on.

HIGHLAND YOUTH CONVENER, NEACH-GAIRM ÒIGRIDH,

Inverness, £10,000 bursary, 12 months from 1st September 2008.

 

We are looking for the Highland’s next Youth Convener. You’ll help make the Highlands the best place in Scotland to be young by ensuring that the voice of young people in Highland is heard on issues and developments that impact them. You’ll work with the Council’s Youth Development Team in developing Highland Youth Voice and other initiatives that increase youth involvement in decisions that affect them. You’ll be a key representative of young people in Highland at various committee meetings. You must be aware of issues affecting young people and be able to represent their views. A good communicator, with work experience in youth projects and the ability to work with and relate to a wide range of people and organisations (See Contract Specification attached).

 

Please write or email to us in no more than 500 words ‘How you would ensure young people’s views are being voiced at Highland Council and Wellbeing Alliance meetings’, with a CV, and 2 referees noted.
