The Penalty Kick Challenge ran by the Army at our Annual Competitions this year

Youth Highland is the ’largest network of youth clubs and groups in the Highlands’ and we are probably the largest non-uniformed voluntary organisation in the Highland area.

Youth Highland has many partners with whom it works, both from the statutory and the voluntary sectors, and the organisation is continually developing relationships with other agencies with whom it is felt will benefit the members.

We offer those involved in youth work in the area, support, information and training.  Our aim is to help youth workers, especially volunteers, to provide safe, stimulating, educational opportunities and activities for young people in their leisure time mainly with the 8 – 18 age group.

Youth Highland also provides, from time to time, direct opportunities and activities for young people.

Youth work requires honesty, mutual trust and respect for young people.  Youth workers require to listen to young people, take seriously the views and opinions expressed by them and to encourage them to contribute to their own wellbeing and the society in which they live.

“Effective participation improves decisions affecting young people and helps them to develop confidence and skills and to build valuable social bonds.  It develops young people’s sense of their own rights and responsibilities as citizens, helping to counter anti-social behaviour and promote a commitment to society and its institutions.  Successful participation can also benefit communities, promoting social cohesion and a more positive view of young people.”
