Welcome to our website. Here we will tell you about XL and what we are doing in our XL club at Inverness Royal Academy. Here are some of the club members
XL CLUB
Hello we are in the XL club at the Inverness Royal Academy we have been in the XL club for a year now and we are in 3rd year.
The first XL club project was printing names on the back of school t-shirts. This was a very successful project and we got help from the Prince’s Trust to help buy the equipment that we needed which was a steam-press and lots of gold letters which stood out well on the school t-shirts. We also made a lot of trips to different schools to go and talk to them in their assembly and tell them what we wanted to do.
We showed them some examples of T-shirts that had already been printed - this made them very keen to get their t-shirts printed.
At the start of the XL club we just got to know each other and build up team skills. In the XL club you need to have good communication and good team building skills.
At the end of each month we go out on a trip e.g. mountain biking and weaselling to help build team skill and work together but also to have fun.
In March we went to Perth for a celebration day to celebrate the XL club where we took part in different workshops.
The second project, which we are doing now, is a community-based project, which will hopefully be as successful as the last project.
The other project that we also did was the world of work project but we have not quite finished it yet because we still have to go out and do work experience for a few days which will probably be very enjoyable when we go out and do it.
If you want to be involved in the XL club then you will have to wait until you are in 2nd year whenyou get to make your subject choices.
