This is the new timber store. The Address is 11 Forrest Street, Glasgow. Its still on Broad Street Industrial Estate so head for the old place and its to your right.

With the closing of Pintail Carving I have been receiving a lot of orders for carving blocks by mailorder and will be expanding the available range to include blocks suitable for duck decoy making.

Welcome

This is the website for Reid Timber, a retail outlet for turning and carving blanks based in Glasgow but also selling by mailorder.

In addition I have attempted to give information on individual woodworkers and clubs for visitors to the site to contact for commissions or information. There is some information and advice for carvers and a limited amount of tools and books for sale.

Native and exotic timbers

Mostly I specialise in carving and turning blocks of native timbers. I seek out thicker boards and interesting specimens including Burrs, Ripples, spalts and unusual timbers such as Laburnum, Hawthorn, Hornbeam etc. There is a stock of exotics which will be expanding greatly in the coming weeks and a range of bowl blanks and pen blanks. In addition I will be expanding my range of full boards, again specialising in the more unusual figures and timbers.
