Parish Council
Clerk and Proper Officer/Responsible Financial Officer.
The post is for up to 2 hours per week and includes overall administration of the Parish Council’s business, including preparation of papers for meetings, taking and production of accurate minutes, dealing with the Council's correspondence, arranging insurance requirements and monitoring the Council's policies.
The post-holder will also be responsible for keeping the Council's financial records, and obtaining, presenting and advising on necessary information for discussions in Council.
Good organisational and administrative skills are essential for this position and an understanding of accounting procedures would be beneficial.
A flexible approach to working is necessary and candidates should be aware that this position does involve some evening work, attending meetings of the Council which are held approximately every 6 weeks in the Village Hall.
The successful candidate will be required to attend appropriate training courses if required.
The salary offered for this position is £1128pa.
Candidates are required to disclose in writing if they are related to any councillor and deliberate failure to disclose disqualifies a candidate, as does canvassing.
