Welcome to Wessex Harpers...

 - a group of harpists based in the Berkshire / Hampshire area, who enjoy playing together and bringing the sound of the harp and its music to audiences.     

The ensemble was formed at the beginning of 2008 and since then we have played regularly at care homes, day centres, and charity events, providing both background music and informal and formal recitals.

Both the large concert harp and the smaller Celtic harps (also known as clarsachs or lever harps) are represented in the group.  Sometimes we also incorporate flute, fiddle, saxophone, and voice.  Our repertoire includes much traditional music from around the British Isles, but also classical, popular and film music.
