Thornton Watlass Cricket Club is a traditional Cricket Club which plays on the Village Green in the centre of Thornton Watlass. It is over looked by The Buck Inn which lies on the boundary. The ground is unusual with its public road including road Signs, numerous trees & white posts lying in the field of play. The ground has featured in many local & national newspapers.
Currently the team plays in Division 4 of the Nidderdale & District Amateur Cricket League on a Saturday after winning promotion as league champions of Division 5 in 2008. The team also won both the Nevitt & Wath Cups during the 2008 season. Thornton Watlass Cricket Club play in Division 2 of the Wensleydale Evening Cricket League.
Thornton Watlass Cricket Club also run & hold the final of the Nevitt Cup.

Ground Directions
Thornton Watlass Cricket Club play on the Village Green in the centre of the village. Please do not park in front of the pub as your car will be in the field of play. Please park up by the Village Hall & School at the top end of the village green.
