This website is born on 18.02.2008 en built for all members of the families Sanders and Hurkmans. It contains lots of pictures and stories about our families, both in present and past.

Visitors of this site are more than welcome and we would appreciate it if you could drop a word or so in our guestbook or give us a personal feedback.

Just looking at pictures is not always satisfactory. So Jos, welcome and i hope we have a long and fruitful time together building and maintaining this website.

Toon, thanks for the introduction and I'm very pleased that I can contribute to this website in this way. And of course, all the credits for the work done so far, my work is just a small part of it and I'm doing it with great pleasure. And to all the English visitors of this site, a very warm welcome and my apologies for all the mistakes or wrong phrases appearingin the English part of this website. I hope as long as the text or story makes sense, you will forgive me for it.

Using this website.

On the lefthand side at the top of the page, you'll find the different submenus you can choose from. For example 'Sanders-Hurkmans ', if you click on that topic, you will find everything regarding the Sanders-Hurkmans family. In the library you'll find the same names as on the homepage.
So it's easy to find your favourite pictures and documents. Of course, same rules apply for the other family pages.

News speaks for itself. Any news from our families ( births, marriages or any other milestone ) can be found on this page. So if you have news you want to share with us, just let us know!!!!

In Calender birthdays, parties etc. can be added. Just let us know by visiting our guestbook or by visiting our feedback page.

Why Waterfall?

Why did I call this site Waterfall?

In my mind I started with the start of human mankind on earth. From that period of time mankind has evolved enourmously. Comparing this to our families: if we take our families at the end of the 1800s as a start, we see two families evolving in the same way.
Nowadays both families have grown to a reasonable amount of people, even if it is still only a very tiny part of all mankind.

You can compare it to drops of water getting together creating a small stream of water on top of a mountain, growing bigger and bigger on the way down and finally ending up as a waterfall.

As you can see, it quite easy to find a name for a hobby!!!

Why this website?

Since a few years I'm working on a photoalbum of the Hurkmans family. From the moment I started until now people are asking me how I'm progressing. And my answer was always the same: still busy, still looking for and finding new photos and also the stories behind them. And in the meantime the family was moving on, growing, changing, that's why my project will never be finished. But all I have gathered in the past years has a place in the album.
But if somebody wants to see it or I want to show it to someone, we have to meet eachother. And that would become a very expensive hobby, especially in the case of the Hurkmans family with a branch of relatives in Australia and the rest of the world.

That's why I started building this website. And not only the Hurkmans family is included but the Sanders family also. In April 2008 the site has gone public and we started to inform everybody about it. Now all relatives can be reached easily and we can share our photos, memories etc. on this site and create a more complete picture of our families.

For that reason we ask all children, grandchildren and their children from the grandfathers and mothers from both families to contribute to this site.
Everyting is welcome: photos, stories, etc etc.

We would be very gratefull!!!

This site contains pictures of Eindhoven, most of them with written comments on where and when.
It's wortwile visiting this site regularly, it's really a very nice site. See the next photo for example, it is the Old "Woenselse" Watermill at the Brugstraat in 1928.
