Welcome to the Home of
The Middle White Pig Trust

The Middle White Pig Trust was established in October 2003, to help to ensure the survival of not only the rare Middle White Pig but also any other endangered breed of british pig.
The Middle White Pig is one of the rarer breeds of British pigs. Commonly known as the 'beautifully ugly' pig, the Middle White is easily recognised by its dished face and pricked up large ears.
The trust has legal charitable status and is recognised by the charity number SC 034860.
The Middle White Pig Trust aims to ensure these rare breeds survival by the following:
-
promoting and procuring scientific research and investigation into the habits and welfare of the pig;
-
by arranging the appointment of experts and advisors on the humane treatment, control and good husbandry of the pig, and to formulate policy based on their advice;
-
by awarding scholarships or making grants to students or those carrying out research into the lives and habits of the pig;
-
by procuring and arranging the publication of the results of such research, surveys and policies;
-
by doing anything that, in their opinion, would enable the Trustees to gather and disseminate information and knowledge about the pig.
