THE GARGOYLES OF GARGUNNOCK

SADLY, WE HAVE RETIRED PERMANENTLY.

ALL OF OUR PERFORMANCES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED FOR 2020.

LIZ AND ZOE AND HELEN WISH YOU AND YOURS ALL THE BEST AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME.

We are an acapella group founded in 2004. We are 3 friends, bonded by our love of harmony, living in the picturesque village of Gargunnock situated in West Stirlingshire approximately 4 miles from Stirling.  We started when one of us came across a great arrangement for an unaccompanied song. The song, John Barleycorn, is still a favourite of ours and it just happens to be about ale, also a favourite of ours!

SO WHAT DO WE DO?

Our roots are in folk music and we also specialise in medieval/renaissance music. We perform at festivals across Scotland such as Scotland's Festival of History, the Marymas Festival in Inverness, Traquair House Medieval and Shakesperean Festivals,  Christmas Farmer's Markets, the Fringe by the Sea at North Berwick plus many, many more. We have also raised a lot of money for charities over the years.

We did a charity concert in Gargunnock Church in 2012 with all proceeds going to the Camphill Community, Blairdrummond. Here are some of the comments:

The Reverend Andy Campbell said “the costumes were brilliant as was the show itself!”

Shelley Fouracre said "we all really enjoyed the concert. It was so good in every way and we loved the way you introduced the songs so we felt we learnt a lot as it went along. The costumes are great and the whole evening went so smoothly thanks to your super organising and masses of practice. Hope Camphill are pleased with the money raised as it's such an important charity."

Elsie Riley, Regional Fundraising Manager for Camphill Blair Drummond said "Well done and thank you, it was a very enjoyable and fun night as well as raising much needed funds for our appeal”.
