Romford ended there spell in the Essex Senior League by winning triumphantly 6 – 0 at the rival Barkingside. In all it was a one sided game where the score might have flattered Barkingside.

George Tubey opened the scoring for Boro twenty minutes in and from there on the floodgates were open for a rampant Romford to finish off the season in style.

Tubey and Chris Barry both went on to complete hat-tricks over the course of the match in a fitting demonstration of the dominance that Paul Martin’s side have maintained throughout the season.

For Barkingside’s part, there was little that Tony Fenn’s side could have done to dampen Romford’s spirits on the day the Essex Senior League trophy came back to Boro for the first time in thirteen years.

Romford thoroughly deserved there win and the title. Barkingside are looking are looking forward to next weeks cup final at Burnham Ramblers when they play Southend Manor in the Essex Senior League Cup.
