WE MAY NOT HAVE BUDDIES BUT WE HAVE TRUE FRIENDS.

To the Players and Officials of Barkingside FC

This season was my first watching the "Side" seriously, previously I was watching professional
football and got disillusioned with overpaid prima donna`s. I decided I wanted to watch grass
roots football and I found it at Oakside. I went into the clubhouse for a pint, the friendliness
impressed me staight away. My first away trip was to Harefield United in FA Vase by coach
with the players and other supporters and I have to say one of my better experiences travelling
away. Only the result was disappointing, the gap in the league`s was not apparent.
What has impressed me is the players commitment on the pitch, an example of this was at the
last away game at Enfield which we lost 4-0, but the players, four of which were carrying injuries
they never gave up and in the end the result flattered Enfield.
I would like to thank Tony Fenn,John Doyle,Tony Rose and the players for their efforts this
season, which without the problems off the field ie. Floodlights and postponments which meant
home games being played at other venue`s I feel sure we would have been challenging at the top
of the table. I would also like thank Jim Flanagan,Martin & Rob Meyers and Angie Robb for their
efforts behind the scenes.
I know April has been a busy month for the players with the number of games, Mr Ferguson and
Mr Wenger would be crying in their wine if they had Fenny`s problems.
In conclusion I wish the players the best of luck in the League Cup Final. I know they will give it
their all. " UP THE SIDE"

Yours in Sport
