WELCOME to this section of the St John’s Church Preservation Group website. We are grateful to Steve Sedwell of ASTAM GBC Consultancy for giving permission to reproduce the reports contained within the 2008 survey. Also to English Heritage for giving permission to reproduce their report amd correspondence. We are now able to provide St John's Church Preservation Group members and anyone else interested with the full texts of the various reports carried out on St John’s Church from 1993 to date including the report of 2002 which resulted in the church being closed. TIP– if you find the full text of the reports too detailed, skip to the conclusions sections at the end. - 'Quinquennial' means every five years
INSPECTION DATE: January and February 1993 REPORT BY: Ascough & Associates Critical of much of the work carried out on the church - which has in some cases made matters worse.
