Scottish School of Rural Health and
Wellbeing (SSRHW)

The SSRHW was established in 2011 and is a collaboration of organisations that have come together to advance knowledge, skills and support for the future remote and rural health and social care workforce and the continuous improvement of the health and wellbeing of communities in the remote and rural areas of Scotland.

Function:

'To establish excellence in remote and rural health and social care through multi-disciplinary education, training and research to serve the remote and rural workforce today and in the future.'

Core activities:

  • Design and delivery of remote and rural education and training
  • Implementation and spread of  tele education, telemedicine/care
  • Remote and rural research, development and consultancy
  • Facilitation of improved remote and rural clinical service delivery and redesign
  • Remote and rural clinical placements, training programs and PhD studentships
