It was a disappointing start to the weekend when Hootananny's turned out to be double-booked. The other band arrived first so they played and Schiehallion had a night on the booze - hmmm maybe things weren't quite so bad after all!!!!
Apologies to all those of you who turned up on Friday night. I hope you managed to catch the band at one of their other gigs.
Saturday at 5pm and the Gellions was bursting at the seams. As you may be aware, a little annual event was happening that day and one or two people found their way to the pub after the Highland Games were done for the day.
Congratulations go to the Beauly Pipe Band who won the 3rd Grade and the 2nd Grade trophies - we have to mention them because Schiehallion's two pipers, Calum and Dennis, both play in that band!! Well done lads......
Thanks too go to Sam, who played and sang during the break. It's always good to hear something different.
Later on in Finlays, the joint was jumping! Myself and Marie got up to dance at the first song and were soon joined by half a dozen like-minded souls. The floor was full for the rest of the night - as was the bar! Well done to the bar staff who managed to keep on top of the queues of thirsty revellers waiting to be served.
I'm sure it won't be long before the band are invited back to play again.
