Well, Friday night was an absolute hoot!!!

The bus picked us up from our own front doors - thanks to Dougie who was doing the driving as usual.

We passed the band at Drumnadrochit where they always stop at the local chip shop. Needless to say, they caught up and passed us further along the road. Mind you, they do have to arrive early enough to set up the gear etc.

We stopped at the pub in Fort Augustus to use the facilities, and of course, had to partake of a small refreshment before going on our way! Some of us had a portion of chips here too, and I have to say they were lovely!

Arrived at Fort William just before the band started playing so there was time to get a round in at the bar before the dancing started. The pub was crowded but we got served quite quickly which is always a good sign. 

Schiehallion have been playing in Fort William (and the Volunteer Arms) for a few years now and they always go down well with the locals and tourists alike. This time round, there were lots of visitors to the town because of the Mountain Bike competition - 10 under the Ben.

On the way back home, we had a picnic - thoughfully provided by Sheena (you can come along any time!!!!) - in the back of the bus and we enjoyed a great sing song all the way home.

Dougie dropped me home last at 3.30am, tired but it was worth it!!
