SLRC - Skye and Lochalsh Running Club

SLRC - Skye and Lochalsh Running and Athletics Club to give it its full title - was formed in September 2002 with the express purpose of promoting running for enjoyment in our local area.

Since that time the Club has been continually active.  We usually meet each Wednesday evening between 6.15pm - 6.30pm in the foyer at Portree Community High School as well as staging ad hoc runs at weekends.  Members also regularly travel to races elsewhere in the country, while a Junior coaching scheme was set up in 2006 and a sponsored round Skye relay run in 2005 raised around £2440 for Macmillan Cancer Care.  SLRC also runs a popular winter series of races, open to all whether club members or not, which take place at a variety of venues around Skye and Lochalsh.
