Welcome to Lock 3 Engineering

Lock 3 Engineering is a small Engineering machine shop providing much needed repair and re-manufacturing capability to the Mid Argyll area. Our machines consist of a large and small metal working lathe and a turret milling machine. There is also welding and fitting capabilities to support the machining. A hydraulic press, drilling machine and sand blaster complete a well rounded small shop able to help you get back to work and play quickly.

Crinan Canal

Located in Ardrishaig on the banks of the Crinan Canal Lock 3 Engineering is ideally located to offer machining and repair engineering to many local companies and industries. From small one of parts for your yacht or classic car to larger components and shafts for forestry farming and fish farms.

Professional Help

As a Chief Engineer in the Merchant Navy I have an extensive knowledge of one off and specialist engineering repairs and having started my career in a toolmakers before going to sea I have an excellent knowledge of machining with a wealth of experience gained on many different tool types.

Approachable

With a love of engineering & a personal interest in historic engines and machines you will find me very intersted in any project or repair you may have. I myself am currently building a Stuart D10 Steam Engine in my own time and hope to follow the project on the website.
