The Rosemarkie Caves Project will be conducting an excavation in Learnie 2B from 3-11 September. Following on from the fascinating results of the test pitting programme, the team hopes to uncover further information about the period and type of occupation in the cave.

The cave entrance contains a substantial wall with a central doorway, overlying well-stratified archaeological layers with material that has provided early medieval/Pictish period radiocarbon dates.
