Duncan Thaw's Last Laugh

On his way to the Machrie Shore.

Alasdair Gray's novel "Lanark". Book Two Chapter Thirty. This is a 'Blockplag' (block plagiarism).

For some reason Duncan Thaw finds this inscription funny and he laughs a lot - but isn't really happy. Thaw then stumbles down to the Machrie shore where he staggers into the water and drowns after some brief splashing.
I'm back over every year. I always eat my lunch sitting on it and then have a piss on it afterwards. This pic was taken October 8th 2010.
