Welcome to Pearsel Family Project

HISTORY

Our Pearsel Family project was launched in January 2016 at the Ark Oval Primary School in Croydon. We had around 25 adults plus children in attendance.

We are thankful to God for the opportunity to have reached out to people in this capacity. It is very hard for some individuals to be out and about socialising in their community never mind building relationships outside of their own family circles.

People often ask what the definition of "Pearsel" is? It simply means responsible, trustworthy and creative. The ethos is we aim to take up the responsibility to ensure that every person matters and each individual is entrusted to work for a person's best interest.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to change society attitudes, influence people who shape policy and practise and to empower and directly support more individuals to lead fulfilled lives.

Our big plan is divided into five priorities. These are the areas where there is the most need to see change for the better.

1. Raising awareness and changing attitudes

2. Making a difference to the lives of people with complex needs, supporting them to maximise their potential and most importantly have a voice.

3. Supporting friendships and relationships.

4. Supporting parents to educate themselves and their children, having a better life in the community they live.

Giving the children the best start in life

OUR VISION

Our vision is a world where single parents are faced with challenges, often with diverse complex needs. Each individual are valued and treated fairly they are supported to express their feelings and finding solutions listened to and are supported to make choices of their own which enable them to live independent in the wider community.

We are positive; never stop believing in yourself and others, embrace a better future and celebrate what we are proud of

We endeavour to care for one another; This means respecting ourselves and others and demonstrating kindness.

Challenging; we will address situations if we consider them to be unfair, finding a better solutions to bring about changes.

Trustworthy works both sides; When we work together we can achieve a great deal. Making a commitment to the group it is our responsibility to ensure its followed through.

Single Parents; seem to have more pressure emotionally, physically, socially, mentally and financially when raising children alone.
