WE announced in the first number of the Journal that it is our intention to attempt a series of bibliographies of Northern Rhodesia. Our first difficulties were those of classification and we spent much time in discussing whether the lists should be chronological or by subject, or even, it was suggested to us, by area. We think eventually that all three methods wilt be used. This may lead to some overlapping but it will at least ensure completeness.
We begin with a chronological list of the earliest publications we have been able to trace and we have made it a chronological list because in the early days there were few specialist works....
