Solar Boat Trips 2008

In July and August 2008, the world's first and only solar-powered paddlewheel boat made regular, eco-friendly passengers trips on the Caledonian Canal in Scotland.

The trips offered a unique taste of quiet and peaceful, 100 per cent solar-powered travel against a background of attractive Highland scenery.

Despite the challenging weather this summer, an increasing number of people took the opportunity to save the planet while enjoying themselves out on the water. Their comments range from “impressive” and “very enjoyable” to “This is the best boat trip I have ever made!”
