DCC Ingliston Stages 2015

The NessRallySport Team had an enjoyable return to action at the DCC Stages based at Ingliston showground last Saturday. It was a day of 'firsts', being the first time out with a new Navigator, Tom Purvin, the first time competing at Ingliston for Don and the first time competing in the JDMotorsport Bug Eye Impreza since it was converted to right hand drive.

It was therefore natural that there would be some apprehension in the car. Despite an initial seeding of 68th the first 2 damp stages were completed without incident and the crew were lying just inside the top 30, so were asked by the organisers to re-seed behind car 31.

In the rush to get back out on time there wasn't sufficient time to be fully prepped for the stage so the car ended up en route to a now bone dry stage with full wet tyres on. A slight error on an early junction on that stage undid some of the good work earlier and a couple of excursions onto the grass lost the team around 40 seconds.

One of their best stage times of the day ended up being dropped after the stage was stopped, causing all times to be scrubbed, and the final stage was cancelled due to a competitor taking unwell.

The final results show that the crew finished 33rd overall, and were delighted with that outcome.

Our thanks as always to our supporters and sponsots without whom this wouldn't be possible, and to Tim Finch of TFRallysport for on event servicing and car prep.
