We watch with sadness but are not surprised by the latest revelation concerning a Labour Councillor proved to have broken the code of conduct set down for all Councillors.

The code of conduct ensures that all Councillors should follow a set of rules designed to protect them and the people who elected them.

Then why do we have a Labour controlled Council protecting one of its Labour Councillors by refusing to publish the Ombudsmans report, even after the Council had suspended the Labour Councillor, Councillor Bob McDonald of Ton yr efail Council, for six months.

The Ombudsmans Office supplied a copy of the report but the Council, whose duty surely is to the people it represents, refused to openly show this document to interested and affected parties.
