TOP 5 GUEST INSTRUCTORS!
18 February 2012

A week or two back I "tweeted" about the top 5 people in the world that I would like to have come train with us and do a "guest" spot and show us what they've got.

For those of you who are non-twitterers, I thought I'd post it here.

I've never been one for picking instructors who are a "name" and believe me there are plenty out there that are famous, shameless self promoters!!  There are quite a few who I'd not even want to step foot over the hut doorway.

Its not always to do with the fact that they can't motor or teach (although sometimes it is - in spite of the hype!!) - but more to do with the fact that the they're the kind of people you'd cross the street to avoid.

I want people that have something unique or interesting to say - rather than having just cribbed it from aligning themselves with the latest RBSD guru or copying the DVD remakes - some relevant experience and most important of all an open and inquistive mind about alternative views.

So with that in mind heres my Top 5 people that the MCG would love to have over to work with.

All we've got to do now is get those lucky lotto numbers and we can fly them in from all over the World....one day....

In no particular order:

  1. MICK GOULD: A top notch close quarter combat specialist.
  2. FRED BAUER- 2nd Regent of American Arwrology. Would love to see how Fred works his combatives!
  3. TERRY TRAHAN - I love Terry's attitude to edged weapon work and self protection.
  4. JAMES KEATING - The grandmaster of blade work. Plus he's one of the nicest people I've ever chatted with about our subject matter.
  5. WIM DEMEERE - Wim has some very useful lessons regarding training methodology and striking applications. He'd be an asset.

As I say probably not a lot of names up there that you'd recognise - but I prefer the more low key to the celebrity instructors - but check them out, and who knows maybe one day we'll have the honour of hosting them!
