This site provides information for educators and interested others about the management of students' behaviour in a learning environment.  National legislation and Leicester College policies and codes of practice are outlined and analysed.

Legislation is a law or body of laws enacted by Parliament.  It can regulate or restrict behaviour or, conversely, permit individuals, groups, bodies and corporations to do something. Without rules, guidance and legislation, society could descend in to chaos.  Similarly, if there is no guidance about what is permissable in a classroom setting, at best learning may be disrupted and at worst someone may be harmed. The pages on this website outline and analyse the usefulness of the following:

Leicester College Policies:

  • Security
  • Equality and Diversity
  • Anti Bullying and Anti Harrassment

National legislation:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Equality Act 2010
  • SEN and Disability Act
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act
