About me
Well I was born in Southgate in Middlesex in January 1951, so as you can see I’m getting on a bit now.
A lot has happened since that, firstly I moved to Edmonton at about the age of 10 days. Then in 1965 Middlesex was abolished and overnight I became a Londoner. But despite this I’m NOT a Cockney, although many say I sound like one.
At this moment I’m living in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire
I was educated in my Primary school days by All Saints and Brettenham Schools and then Montagu and Raynham Secondary schools, although only went to Raynham because the Montagu School was closed down. Raynham was like a concentration camp compared to any other schools.
After school I trained in telecoms, and was a telecoms engineer, and still have a massive interest in that business. After a number of years I changed to be a lorry driver, and I am still doing that for one of the UK’s large shop groups, employed through a German logistics organisation.
Hobbys
Well football is on this list, and I support a massive London football club, called Tottenham Hotspur, often known as simply “The Spurs”
I also love messing about with radio and computer equipment, and for about 14 years I wrote a regular column in a chain of national radio magazines with an emphasis on Citizens Band (CB) Radio, and then later included mobile phones. During this period I appeared on a few television programmes on the CB radio subject, including a live appearance on Channel Four’s “The Big Breakfast”
