Welcome to Leckmelm Pier ClubLeckmelm Pier has been used historically for over 200 years by many members of the community and for more commercial purposes, the most notable during WW2 when the Canadian Forestry Corps were based by Loch Broom. The aim of the Leckmelm Pier Club is to garner support in the community and from visitors to the area with the intention of using the pier for a variety of low impact recreation: kayaking, sailing, rowing, swimming, fishing, windsurfing... The pier club will formalise access to Loch Broom for the community as well as make a structured management plan for the restoration and annual maintenance of the pier. In 2005 a vicious storm damaged the pier and since then it has been closed to the public as it is not safe to use. This year the Crown Estate who own the pier have donated £7,000 towards its repair which will cover about 1/4 of the costs. The pier club is trying to raise further funds to complete the work.
