History:

My first memories of showing dogs was with my father and our Kerry Blue Terriers. I remember us winning a fair few red rossettes but don't remember us ever taking our dogs to Crufts or winning any green cards but fond memories anyway.  I remember showing at an all terrier show and seeing Bedlingtons there, thinking that they looked a little soft.  Only to be told by one of the Kerry gang not to be decieved by their looks.

In 1990 I started to look for my own dog to show, I had been looking for a Kerry pup but could not find one. I remember looking through the Dog World paper and seeing an advert for Ch. Vistablu Nelson Touch owned and bred by the late Ida Sills and this reminded me of my day at that Terrier show.  Anyway at the back of that edition was an advert for Bedlington puppies and they were in London, so off I went with my dad to take a look and we came back with Suthercrag Joseph Jesuis (Toby).

Toby was bred by Mrs M. J. Mewis who gave me the telephone number of a certain Wally Topham so that I could get him trimmed.  Wow, little did I know what was going to happen from then.  Wally Topham owned the Wetop Affix which had fantastic success in the 70's & 80's with some very beautiful dogs and was an expert at grooming this breed.  He groomed my dog for about 2 years and accompanied me to many shows before finally telling to to get on with it myself.  I will never forget what Wally did for me and will be forever grateful.
