GOOGLE DOC DEAL Tech giant Google awarded controversial data deal that gives them access to over 1.5million NHS patient records in new scheme
Experts claim info will boost survival rates but gives Google access to anonymised health records, raising privacy fears.
GOOGLE has been given access to more than 1.5m NHS patient records under a controversial data deal.
The tech giant will be allowed to trawl through confidential information to spot those most at risk of kidney disease, blood poisoning and organ failure.

Google will feed info through to medics via phone apps
It will then be fed to medics through apps on their phones.
It should allow doctors to intervene earlier – with experts claiming it will boost survival.
But the deal with the Royal Free NHS Trust in London – one of the biggest in the country – is hugely controversial.

Trust bosses yesterday announced its doctors will start using Google technology in the next few months.
They claim the five-year deal will free up medics from desk work so they can spend an extra 500,000 hours per year with patients.
Royal Free chief executive David Sloman said: “We are hugely excited.
“We want to lead the way in healthcare technology and this new app will enable us to provide safer and faster care – which will save lives.”

Local bosses get ready for £500m cuts and US-style health nightmare
by Steve Sweeney
SHOCK plans for the sell-off of the NHS were uncovered yesterday when NHS bosses published a proposal to reduce reliance on public money.
A staggering £500 million is to be slashed from one area’s NHS budget as details of the government’s NHS cuts programme leaked out.
The Cambridgeshire document appears to be a blueprint for savage cuts and blows the lid on government plans to privatise the NHS. The sustainability and transformation plans (STPs) have been dubbed “slash, trash and plunder” by campaigners.
Tory plans to cut £22 billion from the NHS budget by 2020 could see thousands of beds lost and units closed, including A&E departments. Doctors have raised concerns about being shut out of the plans.
Most of the proposals were shrouded in secrecy before being published, with NHS England ordering managers not to give out information until bosses had given approval.
The Cambridgeshire plan was initially led by Dr Neil Modha, the chief clinical officer responsible for Cambridgeshire’s disastrous £800m Uniting Care Partnership contract for services for elderly people.
That collapsed amid controversy only months into a seven-year deal, following a bidding process that cost over £1m.
Within the STP are shocking plans for NHS privatisation and a reducing “dependence on public funding in line with current devolution discussions.”
The local clinical commissioning group (CCG) details plans to become an “accountable care organisation” (ACO) — a model based on costly and inefficient US private health companies.
It would see a group of firms take over care for a given population for a certain amount of time under a contract with a health commissioner.
Campaigners say it’s a step towards scrapping the NHS as a public service and turning it into one that runs on insurance, as in the US.
The details of the STP are the clearest sign yet that the government is paving the way towards the wholesale privatisation of the NHS.
Plans to bring in the private sector are revealed when it talks of “leverag[ing] the ‘Cambridge research’ brand and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough-wide education and business offer to attract investment and make new partnerships.”
The plans also contain £500m of cuts. The CCG has been involved in an “engagement exercise” over closing minor injury units in rural parts of the county.
Plans to merge Hinchingbrooke Hospital NHS Trust and Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust are being fiercely opposed by Hands Off Hinchingbrooke campaigners, who fear that jobs and services will be lost.
Unison Cambridge Acute Hospitals spokesman Stuart Tuckwood said that “the current deficit in the NHS is due to government funding not keeping pace with demand, on top of a shambolic and chaotic reorganisation that is pushing trusts into debt.
“The £22bn savings cannot be delivered without cuts and we fear that is what ‘sustainability’ will mean for services in our area.
“We have already experienced the devastating effects of failed privatisation in this area with the collapse of the £800m Uniting Care Partnership contract and the disaster of [privateer] Circle at Hinchingbrooke, who cut and ran after less than three years, leaving the public sector to pick up the pieces as the hospital was placed into special measures.”
The CCG said the plans weren’t final and would be subject to consultation.

But the grandfather-of-one from Abergele has been laid up at home for the last six weeks having undergone triple heart surgery, reports the Daily Post .
Not only that, but his mobility scooter, which is registered with the DVLA can go no faster than 8mph.
Speaking to the Daily Post, Mr Roberts said: “When I opened the letter, I thought it was a joke but I soon found out that it wasn’t.
“I’ve barely been out of the house these last six weeks, never mind going to Trelawnyd at that time of night.
“My scooter has a registration number but it doesn’t have number plates on it so I have no idea what’s happened here.”

Mr Roberts’ son Nick posted the debacle on Facebook to seek advice.
He said: “First of all, my dad’s scooter doesn’t have any number plates on it, he lives in Abergele and the furthest he’s ever been on it is to Rhyl.
“Also, it can’t go any faster than 8mph so the only thing I can think of is another vehicle must have false number plates.
“Surely, when the ticket was being processed, someone should’ve noticed it was a mobility scooter and realised there had been a mistake.
“My dad is recovering from heart surgery and doesn’t need any shocks to the system right now.
“It’s all a bit strange.”
The retired electrician got the battery-operated scooter 12 months ago when problems with his heart led to angina and left him unable to walk short distances.
GoSafe, the organisation which issues speeding tickets on behalf of North Wales Police said the blunder was down to an incorrect number entered into the system.
A GoSafe spokesman said: “This issue appears to have been caused by an incorrect digit being submitted when the offence was processed.
“As soon as the issue was brought to our attention it was immediately rectified.
“The paperwork had been cancelled earlier today. We have issued a written apology to the gentleman. We apologise for any distress caused.”

Out-of-date prescription
Another Panorama team member, called Lucy, was hired as a care assistant at Clinton House.
The home claims its staff are qualified to look after people with mild dementia.
But during her time there, Lucy was asked to look after a resident with severe dementia - despite having had no specialist training.
Using a hidden camera, she filmed the resident lying in a bed with a loose guard rail.
When she raised her concern that the lady might fall out or trap a limb, another member of staff advised her that his solution was to hold his foot against the bed frame.
The Morleigh Group is understood to have been paid about £3,000 per week to care for the resident.
Lucy also witnessed an out-of-date prescription supplement being re-labelled and issued to a patient for whom it had not been originally prescribed.
On another occasion, she was asked to help care for a resident who was suffering from a degenerative disease.
She was prescribed morphine "as required". The resident said she was feeling unwell, and was worried she would need to go to hospital.
Lucy went to the nursing station to report what she had been told to a colleague.
The nurse she consulted appeared to become angry, and proposed giving the resident a dose of morphine, which, she said, "will shut her up".
Panorama showed its footage of the incident to Dr Peter Holden, a GP and member of the British Medical Association.
"I'm horrified," he said. "Morphine is not there to be a cosh on patients. That won't have been prescribed for that and would never be so."
Council apology
As well as announcing the closure of Clinton House, the Morleigh Group has suspended the nurse pending an investigation.
The group denies that it failed to give proper attention to the quality and safety of residents' care.
It says it it had already dismissed the home's manager before it became aware of Panorama's investigation.
In a statement, Cornwall Council - which placed residents at Clinton House - said it was "sorry that the standard of care provided by Morleigh Group has fallen far short of what residents, their relatives and the general public have a right to expect".
It added that it was now investigating two more Morleigh Group homes.
The regulator, the Care Quality Commission, said it has had serious concerns with the Morleigh Group for some time, and had issued warning notices.
Andrea Sutcliffe, the CQC's chief inspector of adult social care, said: "We were appalled to have found that the Morleigh Group has allowed the quality of care to decline."

Paul Starling says .......

WHY THE BLAIRITE-CANCER WILL STILL KILL THE LABOUR PARTY .. IF YOU LET IT. Nailing the lie, and the liars!
I make no apology to the hundreds of clps following these posts across Britain. What I am about to write affects you directly. The destruction of Labour in Scotland is being repeated in Wales. Scottish Labour was wiped out. Now the power-greedy fools at the 'top' of Welsh Labour are courting the same fate. The difference this time is that if that happens ... these disease-carriers will try to put the blame on Jeremy Corbyn! That is their aim, their strategy .... their big lie. And I intend to nail it!
The behaviour of the Blairites in Wales is easier to see (than in your clp controlled by the London HQ) because the so-called 'leaders' at Labour Wales HQ have assumed power to themselves not theirs, they don't deserve, and which is eating the Labour Party alive.
Imagine if Scottish Labour and Welsh Labour are defeated in council elections and at the next General Election. The Labour Party will self-destruct, the Tories will sweep to victory and Britain will face the most brutal Tory onslaught imaginable. Those are the stakes being played with here. If that happens these blairite virus-carriers will try to put it all on Corbyn. It is a Big Lie and it must be nailed.
My last post traced the 'infiltration' of the cancer of Blairism which is eating away at the Labour Party. The 1984-85 miners strike was the killer point when neo-con thatcherite, market-driven, global greed was imposed on us all. Take a look at the 30yearsofhurt you tube programme to get the context. I've shown in earlier posts how the SDP (Social Democratic Party) splitting away from Labour gave Thatcher a free hand to wield her vicious axe.
The man who donated millions to that SDP breakaway party is the same man who has donated millions to fund the ultra-Blairite 'Progress' party-within-the-Labour-Party which is behind this latest attempt to split Labour (detail in my earlier posts). The blairites, in other words, care nothing for Labour and will create a new right-of-centre social democratic party (SDP mark II) if you allow them to.
To understand the present we have to look at the past. Neil Kinnock created Blair and blairism and he is still creating ruin at the centre of the blairite 'project'. Mr. Kinnock, bruised by the right-wing media and his shameful defeat by the 'grey man' John Major at the 1992 general election lost his senses. He imposed Alastair Campbell to 'spin' the media, and Peter Mandelson to 'discipline' and manipulate every aspect, level, rule, of the Labour Party. The result has been the imposition of blairite placemen and women in every corner, clp, level of the Labour Party. These three distasteful power-seekers are still at the heart of the destruction going on.
Now we're up to date with history I'd like to turn to a bit of geography. Trust me it is relevant. I've exposed the disgraceful blairite stitch-up in Nye Bevan's historic constituency of Blaenau Gwent. If you get your map you'll see about 50 miles west is an area called Ogmore. Find Bridgend (near the M4) then you'll see three valleys running like fingers to the north. I'm now targetting Bridgend because it is the rotten nerve-centre of the blairite project (in Wales, and across Britain).
In that 84 -85 miners strike I got to know every mining community. Those three finger-like mining valleys (the Llynfi, Garw, and Ogwr) among them. The reason for mentioning them is to give you a picture of them. At the top of one of those valleys was the St.John's colliery at Maesteg.
Coal was the only employer. The miners there acquired the reputation for being rock-hard. I know I filmed many a picket-line clash there in the dark, in the cold, and the driving rain. Maesteg and those three valleys were rock-hard-Labour too. They had been for decades. These valleys were the crucible out of which the Labour Party was formed and flourished. BUT!
These three valleys have been systematically invaded, infiltrated, by the disease of Blairism. I disclosed in an earlier post how the Ogmore CLP
Officers stitched-up the members over the leadership, then deleted, censored and silenced any criticism on the clp fb page, before getting Wales Labour HQ to deny members rights to attend the follow-up meeting at which there would have been a showdown.
It has since become "toxic" as one long-standing Labour Party member puts it.
Last week six long-standing Labour councillors on the Bridgend County Council were deselected by the Wales Labour 'leadership', one of them whose grandparents were founder members of the Llynfi Valley Labour Party.
This week it has got even worse. Two nights ago nine of the most senior members of the Llynfi Valley branch of the Labour Party resigned (including four sitting county councillors and the Maesteg mayor). For the first time in its history the council of Maesteg, this once rock-solid Labour mining area, is now being run by 'independents'. This is a clear warning sign of things to come unless action is taken!
Believe me the blairite Labour Wales HQ and 'leadership' can see the writing on the wall. Labour, because of them, faces being decimated at next May's council elections. They have already lost a working majority in the Welsh Assembly. They have already seen seven UKIP members joining the Assembly, yet still they impose their destructive games.
In the next few posts I am going to expose who the ringleaders are (and much more).
Why Bridgend? Is the obvious question. The answer is that Labour's First Minister in the Assembly is Carwyn Jones. Bridgend is his assembly constituency. The chairman of the Labour Wales executive committee (the purger-in-chief) is one Andy Richards. He is convenor at the Bridgend Ford Plant (the area's biggest employer) and regional secretary of the UNITE union.
It is telling that Andy Richards and Carwyn Jones said not one word during the leadership election. Despite being the biggest union in Wales not one UNITE banner was seen despite Andy Richards' boss being Len McCluskey who did more to get Jeremy Corbyn re-elected than anyone (more on this to come). Both men are thoroughly blairite. Both supported Owen Smith whose constituency is just 30 miles to the north of Bridgend.
Twenty miles to the south of this blairite nerve-centre a certain Neil Kinnock lives in a very large house, in a gated community. You'll find his son Stephen Kinnock just over the mountain from Maesteg. He's the MP for the neighbouring Aberavon constituency. Stephen Kinnock, probably the most outspoken critic of Jeremy Corbyn (like father like son), won the selection to become Aberavon's parliamentary candidate by just one vote. He would not have won that nomination if he'd told the local Labour Party there that his children are being educated at private schools, one of them at a £26,000-a-term public school a short drive from grandad-Kinnock's palatial home on the coastline.
There is much more to say, and I will in my following posts.
All of this directly affects you and your clp, and the future of the Labour Party. Similar infiltrations by the carriers of the disease of blairism have been going on for over 20 years in every area and part of the Labour Party. Having looked in detail at Nye Bevan's constituency, and now progressively at Ogmore, why don't you do the same with your clp.
Is this a 'post' of despair? Not a bit of it. I know the people of these Ogmore valleys very well. There will be an almighty reckoning for these blairites with their infantile lusts for power, control, 'privilege', office, expenses. Their use of the once-great Party-of-and-for-the People as a Personal Plaything is going to be their undoing.
I say this without hesitation. This is an almighty battle to the death. The blairites will not go quietly of their own choice. They are prepared to go to any lengths even if it means destroying the Labour Party in the process. They will not stop .. unless they are stopped.
One final piece of history. It was Neil Kinnock as Labour Leader who failed to throw the weight of the Labour Party behind the miners in that fateful strike which killed the mining industry and mining communities like those three Ogmore valleys. With that, Mr. Kinnock cleared the way for Thatcher to decimate communities all over Britain.
It was Neil Kinnock who managed the incredible feat of losing to the no-hope 'grey-man' John Major, at the 1992 General Election ushering in a further 5 years of destructive thatcherite policies.
It was Neil Kinnock who introduced Blair and blairism into the Labour Party making it a puppet of the markets, the money-men, the spin-doctors, the manipulators, the slick-tie-slick-tongued smoothies who, having never had a job, have used the Labour Party as a ladder to advance their own interests in every nook, cranny, corner, clp, constituency across Britain.
Take a look at 30yearsofhurtpaulstarlingyoutube (bottom of my post below this one) and you will see why I say it is time for the great traditional Labour communities to seize back the Labour Party of and for the People. Why I say the rock-solid mining communites of the Ogmore valleys and Constituency have not forgotten who let loose the the damage of Thatcherism and blairism.
And why it is time to act at grassroots level to save the Labour Party.
FOOTNOTE ..... Since posting this it's now clear that four more Labour members - two of them Labour councillors - have resigned from the Llynfi Valley Labour Party. The writing on the wall is quite clear ... the words spell it out .... Labour is Doomed If Action is Ignored!
