Major celebrations as Ross County parade the Scottish First Division Trophy!
28 April 2012

It was the final home game of the season but more importantly the presentation of the First Division trophy and the last game the supporters could stand up on the terrace prior to promotion to the SPL! Much as the fans are delighted to win the league and reach the Scottish Premier League it will take some getting used to sitting after standing in the Jailend and East Terrace for many a long year! So this was the last time and it was a day of celebration with songs, chants, poznans, shoes off and sitting down for the champions! The team won 5-1 with Michael Gardyne scoring the last goal in front of the Jailend and then the trophy was presented to captain Richard Brittain. A lap of honour followed with delirious supporters applauding our heroes. Then Torridon played live from a specially constructed stage in the away end and then the open top bus tour paraded the trophy round Dingwall with the High Street mobbed to applaud the team! A day never to be forgotten by Ross County fans in attendance! Thanks to the team for an unforgettable season!

Ross County legends play in Testimonial for Munro & Duncan
22 April 2012

Current Ross County players Grant Munro and Russell Duncan spent over ten years playing for Highland rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle so were due a testimonial match. The match was played between the current Ross County and Inverness CT teams in the first half and the second half saw legends teams play each other. County fans occupied the away end at Caledonian Stadium while home fans occupied the main stand to applaud the two players for their services to Highland football. We'll forget the scoreline as it wasn't a competitive match!

An extension to 31 games unbeaten, a year without a league loss in Dingwall and its 3-0 to the champions!
14 April 2012

Ross County entertained nearest challengers Dundee in their second last league fixture of the season. It was a homecoming to Dingwall to savour following the clinching of the league title the previous midweek! A massive crowd of over 4000 were in Victoria Park to welcome our hereos onto the pitch. There followed a brilliant performance and a 3-0 win by the champions! This meant the unbeaten league run this season being extended to 31 games, the increasing of our points total to 20 points clear of second placed Dundee and we haven't lost a home league game in over a year! It was something of a party as well with the home fans in the Jailend creating a great atmosphere and the players celebrating their second and third goals in front of a partying Jailend. The Jailend saw the "Poznan" plus numerous bouncy's and sit down for the champions! The fans stayed at the end to appalud their heroes who did a lap of honour! Record breakers and league champs all the way - Ross County FC!

Player of the Year Buffet Dance at Crown Court Hotel, Inverness
14 April 2012

Our eagerly anticipated annual Player of the Year Dance took place at the Crown Court Hotel in Inverness. Players, mgt and directors of Ross County attended along with members, fans and friends. Chairman Derek Fraser welcomed everyone to the dance and paid tribute to the team for gaining promotion to the SPL after the club finished bottom of the Highland League back in 1984. A real fairystory. The presentations of the awards took place:
Young Player of the Year - Curtis Byrne
Player of the Year - Grant Munro
Services to Ross County Award - Michael Gardyne
with also a special services award presented to Treasurer Joan Mitchell for her sterling work on behalf of members. Ross County chairman Roy Macgregor gave a speech paying tribute to everyone for their hard work over the season especially the players and management at the club. There then followed a buffet and dance to the Impact Band until the early hours of the morning! As usual a great night had by all. Thanks to all the players and officials from Ross County who attended on the night!

Celebrating our league championship victory in Ayr-shire!
11 April 2012

Ross County had won the First Division Championship the previous evening without even playing a game! So it was a long trip to play Ayr United for our next league game but one that was relished to celebrate a fantastic achievement! Ross County won 3-1 to stretch their unbeaten run to an amazing 30 games and us fans sang and partied throughout the game. The old away terrace with its roof kept the noise in and Inverness Supporters Club members were in amongst a large group of County supporters. We paid tribute to a great team with "Sit down for the champions!", "Shoes off for the champions", "Lets all do the Poznan" and there was a large conga moving round the terraces. Ross County had never won the First Division title before so we made sure we celebrated in style. We had pipers and drummers and plenty songs and applauded our hereos throughout. It was a long drive home in the middle of the week but we wouldn't have missed this for the world! At the games conclusion the players came over to the fans and joined in the party and even did a run and slide towards the supporters!

Championi Championi - Ross County FC First Divison Champions 2012!!
10 April 2012

10 April is now a public holiday in Ross-shire!
10 April 2010 - County beat Celtic at Hampden in Scottish Cup semi!
10 April 2011 - County win the Challenge Cup beating QOS
10 April 2012 - Ross County are First Division Champions!
What a date the 10th of April is! Without playing a game tonight Ross County are confirmed as First Division Champions! Dundee drew with QOS ensuring County can't get caught and are 29 games unbeaten and fourteen points clear with five games to play! Well done to everyone at Ross County FC for a remarkable season. You've made us Staggie fans so proud. As for the SPL - Were on our way!

Home draw with Raith Rovers keeps County's long unbeaten record extended to 28 league games!
31 March 2012

Fortress Victoria Park - not a single defeat this season at home! And only one league game away was lost back in August. What a season its been. We are not quite league champions yet as need four points to win the league but a home draw is not too bad against a Raith side desperate for points in their relegation battle. In fact if it wasn't for a dodgy last minute penalty awarded to Raith we'd have won 1-0. There was loads of Inverness based supporters in the home crowd who went mental when Paul Lawsons strike hit the net at the Jailend!

Second placed Falkirk despatched in Dingwall as County go 15 points clear and remain unbeaten in 26 league matches! Championi!
17 March 2012

Ross County beat Falkirk today in front of a crowd of well over four thousand fans in Dingwall to go 15 points clear at the top of the table. It was a great day for us fans with a massive noisy crowd and we even dared to sing "Championi" as with the massive gap it shouldn't be long now till we win the First Division title for the first time! Early goals from Richard Brittain and Rocco Quinn had us in party mode from the start. The team extended their Scottish league record to 26 unbeaten games and its still rising! Here we go here we go!

Ross County equal First Division unbeaten record with 23rd consecutive unbeaten game!
06 March 2012

Ross County beat Partick Thistle 3-0 tonight in Dingwall in a re-arranged First Division Fixture. History was made as Ross County equalled the Scottish First Division record with going 23 games undefeated in succession. County have lost just one game all season back in August to Hamilton Accies. They have now equalled the league's record and are nine points clear at the top of the table with eleven matches to play! Tonight the team played fantastically well again with goalscorers Colin McMenamin, Iain Vigurs and Michael Gardyne outstanding! Gardyne won man of the match but the whole record equalling team were fantastic watched by a crowd of 2,200 in Dingwall. Fingers are crossed that County will win the league and go into the SPL! This win meant it was three wins in six days after some postponed matches meant plenty of games in hand and thankfully the teams hard work saw the points in the bag and the lead at the top extended!

Ross County's Stadium Redevelopment - now online
10 February 2012
Ross County's stadium redevelopment which will be necessary should we win the league and get promoted to the Scottish Premier League is now online at the following website. Check it out by clicking on the link below!
So with the team 5 points clear at the top of the table and with two games in hand things are looking good on and off the park. Lets cheer the team on to win the league and we can see our team in our new re-developed stadium next season!
Unbeaten run continues at Falkirk during a hard Boxing Day match!
26 December 2011

Many Inverness Ross County Supporters Club members with the national holiday off headed to Falkirk for our vital Boxing Day match against our nearest challengers! What a game it was, close with chances at both ends and a fine atmosphere. We went a goal down with 13 minutes remaining but the team battled on as they have all season and a Colin McMemamin strike with virtually the last kick of the game saw us equalise and maintain our six point lead at the top with a game in hand! What a great Christmas present and how vital could this point be come the end of the season!. Seven points out of nine against the Falkirk bairns this season which is fantastic. Happy new year everyone!
Countys long unbeaten run goes on and on into Christmas!
17 December 2011

This was the third time this season the First Divisions top placed side met the second places side. Hamilton and Falkirk had come to Dingwall in second place and been beaten by the league leaders. Now Dundee came in second place and an entertaining afternoon saw a 1-1 draw meaning County's long unbeaten record continued and with us clear at the top of the league going into Christmas and New Year! An ex player Steven Milne had us a goal down at half time but Colin McMenamin's strike in the second half sparked wild celebrations and we secured the point! Merry Christmas everyone. Long may the great team performances continue!

Ross County win Scotland's Match of the Day!
12 November 2011

With the international break and no SPL matches today's match of the day in Scotland was first against second in the First Division! A massive crowd of 4108 packed into Victoria Park for this league match against Falkirk. The crowd cheered on the team who didn't disappoint winning this vital match 3-1 with joyous celebrations from everyone at the end! This win lifts Ross County six points above Falkirk (2nd place) and nine above third place. Its too early to get carried away yet but we've won our last seven league games and have an unbeaten run of eleven games! Its a great time to be a Ross County supporter!

Ross County go three points clear at top of league cheered on by proud home support!

Following last weeks win at Dundee the players ran out at Victoria Park in Dingwall this afternoon as the proud league leaders! It was billed as the top of the table clash as Hamilton Accies were visiting and were in second place and we knew it would be a tough game with Hamilton Accies just relegated from the SPL and the only team to beat us in the league this season! A goal from defender Grant Munro in the 31st minute ensured a 1-0 victory and other results went with us so we are now three points clear at the top! The club have won four games on the trot and are undeated in eight games. The fans are loving the run of results and the fact our hereos are top of the league!

Quarter of the season has gone - and we are top of the league!
15 October 2011

Ross County completed their ninth game of the season today with a 2-1 away win against Dundee that put us top of the First Division at the quarter stage of the season! An exciting 4-0 win at home to Ayr United a fortnight ago and an exceptional win in Dundee with a long range Rocco Quinn effort see's us top of the league! However before anyone gets carried away there is only eight points between 1st and last so the winning run must continue if our dream of promotion is to be realised! Ross County have lost only one game this season at Hamilton but have drawn a lot as well hence nobody is pulling clear at the top of the division yet! Being out of the cup competitions early seems to have helped the team focus on winning important league games! Keep it up - come on the staggies!
Ross County exit Scottish League Cup at hands of old foes Celtic!
21 September 2011
.jpg)
Ross County played their biggest home match since Rangers visited in the Scottish Cup in February 2001! Our supporters club members were amongst a 5367 crowd that packed into Victoria Park for a live BBC Scotland Scottish league Cup tie against Celtic. Having previously played the Glasgow side twice with one win apiece everyone was talking about last years shock result at Hampden Park prior to the game! However Celtic ran out 2-0 winners on a rainy night in Dingwall. It could have been different had Michael Gardyne's volley hit the net instead of the post but Celtic were comfortable winners in the end! There was a good atmosphere inside the stadium and both Old Firm have now visited Dingwall for competitive matches!

Inverness Ross County Supporters Club members were amongst the tartan army supporting Scotland tonight as they beat Lithuania 1-0 at Hampden Park in Glasgow. Don Cowie who came through the youth ranks at Ross County and was club captain before leaving to play for Watford and now Cardiff City down south started his first competitive match for his country! Wearing number six Don Cowie played the whole ninety minutes as Scotland won to keep alive their European Championship Qualification hopes! It was Don's sixth cap for Scotland with three away friendlies and three Hampden matches now amongst his collecting of games! Its a priviledge for members to see him playing for our country after coming through the ranks in Dingwall!

County defeat QOS at home to start a great week!
20 August 2011

Following a sticky start to the season there was relief around Victoria Park today when County scored two late goals to beat QOS 2-0 for their first league win of the season! Substitute Steven Craig had the fans and club delighted with manager Derek Adams even joining in the celebrations with the players! This seemed to kick start our season as we knocked Hamilton Accies out of the Scottish league Cup and then had a hard fought draw at Falkirk in a great week for the club. Then the draw for the Scottish league Cup saw us draw Celtic at home. It will be Celtic's first competitive fixture in Dingwall and will be played on Wednesday 21 September at 7.15pm and is live on BBC Scotland!

The prodical son returns to County!
19 May 2011
.jpg)
Ross County today announced the appointment of their new manager - the return of arguably our most sucessful manager Derek Adams just seven months after he left to be assistant at SPL side Hibernian! Adams led County to the Second Division title, the Scottish Cup FInal 2010 and to the recent Challenge Cup Final before departing for Hibs. However he's been enticed back after his two replacements Willie McStay and Jimmy Calderwood both left the club! Good luck Derek and good to see him on a three year contract giving plenty stability to the club over the coming years. We all want to get to the SPL so lets go for it!
League campaign concludes with highest win of season and they players show their trophy off to the fans!

Ross County brought the curtain down on the 2010/11 season with their highest win of the season 3-0 at home to Cowdenbeath. Scott Boyd who was named as Inverness Supporters Club player of the year a fortnight ago scored the second goal to a large cheer from the home fans and at the final whistle he also ran away with all the other Player of the Year awards after an outstanding season at centre half! Following the match the Ross County players paraded the Scottish Challenge Cup round Victoria Park and applauded the home fan's who turned out loyally all season despite a poor league campaign. The team finished in eight place in the First Division on 41 points six ahead of the relegation play off spot. The club had the second best defensive record in the league over the season conceding just 34 goals but unfortunately were also the leagues lowest league scorers with just 30 goals and 10 of them came from Andy Barrowman. There was relief County will be playing in the First Division again next season and delight with the silverware won in the cup!

Third time lucky as County stuff QOS which assists us to remain in the First Division next season!
26 April 2011
.jpg)
Ross County finally got their rearranged match against Queen of the South played tonight at the third attempt. Previous attempts to play their game in hand in February and last week saw the game abandoned on each occasion as the floodlights failed at Palmerston Park in Dumfries! So tonights game was played at neutral Dunblane Stadium to ensure the match could be completed! Happily a Michael Gardyne first half strike saw us claim the three points and hoist us three points clear of ninth placed Cowdenbeath in the relegation play off fight. It was relief to get the match played at a neutral ven with just 266 fans in the stadium of which 154 were County supporters amongst whom were a handful of Inverness based club members! This win followed by a win at the Falkirk stadium four days later ensured Ross County were safe in the First Division and avoided the lottery of the relegation play off! An eleventh season in the Scottish First Division awaits in August 2011!

Our fourth Challenge Cup Final in six years took place against Queen of the South in Perth! The original date of 28 November 2010 was postponed due to the poor weather conditions but the rearranged date today saw win 2-0 with a fine display and the team dominated the game. We headed down on the bus and mixed with the Queen of the South fans in the 208 Bar pre match. We cheered on the team as goals from Andy Barrowman and Iain Virgurs saw us win our second Challenge Cup Final and take the trophy back north. It was great to win the cup on the first anniversary of last seasons famous win over Celtic at Hampden Park in our first Scottish Cup Semi Final! It was a happy supporters bus going home!

Members make way to London to see Don Cowie play for Scotland against Brazil
27 March 2011

Quite a few members of our supporters club made their way to London to see Brazil play Scotland in an international friendly! While most of the rest of our members watched live on TV! Former Ross County youth product and club captain was a substitute for Scotland and came on in the final moments wearing number 18! It was fantastic for members to see a former player doing so well and coming on against the most famous international team in the world!

Some goals and a home win at last!
05 March 2011

Ross County had gone seven hours without scoring a goal! The last four league games saw goal less draws! Following Derek Adams leaving the club Willie McStay took over and was sacked after nine games in charge as he lead the team to zero wins! Unbeaten but no goals or wins for new manager Jimmy Calderwood either - until today! It was almost four months since our last win in the league against Falkirk back in November! So it was relief today as we beat Falkirk again with goals from captain Richard Brittain and striker Andy Barrowman! Relief was certainly in the air as the goals came and we celebrated a rare win in Dingwall! Let's hope the win's continue as we are in a relegation dogfight this season which has been frustrating after the high's of last season! However the only way is up now - Come on the Staggies!

Will we ever beat Dundee United?
18 January 2011

Ross County met Dundee United for the fifth time in 16 months in a Scottish Cup Fourth Round Replay. Following a 0-0 draw ten days ago at Tannadice this was County at home and the chance to avenge last seasons Scottish Cup Final defeat at the hands of the Arabs. A large home crowd cheered on their team throughout and County put up a battling performance but after normal and extra time no goals were scored. The United keeper had three fantastic saves in the second half to prevent County taking the lead! Unfortunately we lost 4-3 on penalties during a nailbiting shoot out at the Jail End! This meant Dundee United have knocked County out of both League and Scottish Cup's the last two seasons! Will we ever beat this team?

Ross County's manager Derek Adams leaves the club!
11 November 2010

Ross County today parted company with manager Derek Adams as he left the club for a position he couldn't refuse as number 2 at Hibernain! Derek Adams had two spells as a Ross County player in his playing career and became Ross County's most successful manager ever when he took the club to this years Scottish Cup Final! In his three years as manager he took the club to the Second Division Championship, two Scottish Challenge Cup finals and of course on the amazing Scottish Cup run this year! Our club members wish Derek Adams all the best with his future career and thank him for the memories over the last few seasons! Derek was replaced a couple of weeks later by former Celtic youth coach and player Willie McStay who lasted just nine games before being replaced by Jimmy Calderwood!

A long train trip south to Kirkcaldy ends in disaster with Raiths last minute winner putting them top of the league and us joint bottom!
23 October 2010
.JPG)
Ten members made the journey south from Inverness to Kirkcaldy on the train. Three hours of good crack on the journey south and met some friendly Fifers in the Novar Bar and Penny Farthing pubs pre match. We took our seats amongst a small County support but we didn't have much to cheer! No real goalscoring chances for County and three incredible saves from Michael McGovern County's No 1 to kept us in the game. Then Raith strole through our defence in the last minute to win the game, put themselves top of the league and we are now joint bottom with two other teams locked on nine points. Ten games into the league season and we are struggling! Thanks to the staff of the Beveridge Park Hotel after the game for their hospitality and then it was another three hour journey north disecting our teams failings and enjoying some laughs as well! Let's hope the team's results improve soon!

Challenge Cup Semi Final in Dingwall - we win a titantic game on penalties!
10 October 2010

A mega semi final tie was played at Dingwall today and beamed live around the country on BBC Alba via satellite television! County went one down early doors to one of our bogy teams Partick Thistle but equalised midway through the second half through an amazing long range free kick from Scotty Morrison which landed in the top corner in front of the jail end. However Partick re-took the lead only for County substitute Andy Barrowman returning from a long term injury to lash in an equaliser and force extra time! The Jail End got louder and louder and confidence was high as it went to penalties and we won 4-3 following two outstanding saves from our goalkeeper Michael McGovern. This took County through to our fourth Challenge Cup Final in six years (every even year - 2004, 2006, 2008 and now 2010) where we now meet Queen of the South in Perth at the end of November. Its also our second cup final in six months have reached the Scottish Cup Final back in May! The supporters present loved it and so did the fans watching at home, in pubs and some even watching live on BBC Alba in Prague in the Czech Republic following watching Scotland's match abroad!

A re run of the Scottish Cup Final as Dundee United visit Dingwall
22 September 2010
.JPG)
Back on 15 May we played Dundee United at Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup final to 52,000 people with 20,000 Staggies fans amongst that crowd. Tonight in Dingwall there was just 2,269 in attendance for the Scottish League Cup Third Round tie though the game was beamed around Scotland live on BBC2! Though County put on a good performance they didn't create as many chances as the SPL side and fell behind to a soft penalty scored by David Goodwillie. However Iain Virgurs equalised with a low shot with minutes to go to force extra time. Unfortunately an own goal in extra time saw us elminated despite a rowsing performance from the team. The Jail End made plenty of noise. Unfortunately we've now met Dundee United three times in the space of a year and they've won every tim though this was the closest scoreline yet. Our great cup run's of 2010 will be remembered forever. We're out of the League Cup but at least still have a Challenge Cup Semi Final to look forward to in a few weeks time!

Another SPL side bites the dust in Dingwall!

Yet another Scottish Premier League club were put to the sword by Ross in a major cup competition. St Mirren came north tonight for the Second Round of the Scottish Co-operative Insurance League Cup and it turned into an enthralling match and a another great truimph for the Ross County team which delighted us fans! County played very well in the first half but found themselves one down at half time. However a great indivdual effort from Michael Gardyne and a superb long range free kick from Richard Brittain had us in the lead. St Mirren equalised forcing extra time and then we went 3-2 behind. However substitute Steven Craig equalised to send the game to penalty kicks! County really deserved to won the game in 90 minutes and again after extra time so it would have been an injustice to see us beaten on penalties. However every County penalty taker scored and goalkeeper Michael McGovern saved two St Mirren penalties meaning we won 4-2 on penalties to put another SPL side out the cup in 2010! The crowd of just over 1200 were delighted! Those fans who didn't go missed an amazing cup tie and a great County team performance once again!

Challenge Cup opens the season against old foes Elgin City in Moray!
24 July 2010

The season kicked off with a Challenge Cup First Round tie away to old Highland League foes Elgin City. Ross County joined the Scottish League in 1994 and have been to three Challenge Cup Finals. Elgin City left the Highland League in 2000 and we've only met once competitively in Dingwall since then! So this was our first competiitve game in Elgin since the early 1990's when both sides were in the Highland League. A number of members of our club took the train through and enjoyed the hosptality at the Elgin City Social Club. We won 2-1 and again enjoyed the Social Club and other Elgin pubs before heading home on the train! A good start to the season and a great trip for old times. Hopefully we'll be back in Moray again soon!

Scottish Cup Finalist's after an amazing cup run!
15 May 2010

Ross County played at Hampden Park V Dundee United for the worlds oldest trophy in front of the biggest crowd to ever watch a County match 47,122. It was the biggest game in the clubs history and though we lost 3-0 to Scotlands third best team it was an amazing experience being at Hampden - the only team from the Highland League who've ever reached a Scottish Cup Final. Some members made a weekend of it but the vast majority got the group bookins on the train and headed to the Renfrew Ferry in Glasgow for the pre final party featuring a live performance from Torridon who feature our members Kenny Smith and Matthew Cameron. The band played their cup final song for the 600 County fans in the venue and got the singing going in a frenzy prior to kick off. There was plenty of singing too on the bus from the ferry to the match and a great family atmosphere inside the National Stadium as 20,000 staggies cheered the team on. It was emmotional just prior to kick off with Torridon's song reverberating around Hampden and then the team clapping the fans as they finished their warm up! It was nil nil at half time with United the better team but County defending well. However the SPL team turned the screw in the second half and scored three goals to deservedly win the cup. Though we were disappointed to lose we were also proud of the cup run and the media attention prior to the match ensured everyone know's about this club now! Everyone stayed to clap the team as they collected their runners up medals before making their way back north for the journey home. After a phenmonal season on the park - We're proud to be a staggie!

Media frenzy prior to Ross County's first Scottish Cup Final apperance!
14 May 2010

On the eve of the Ross County's historic Scottish Cup Final appearance the media interest in the club and the town of Dingwall was quite amazing. And our members joined in the frenzy and the party in the lead up to the biggest day in the club's history. Sky Sports News were live in Dingwall all day and started their coverage at 9am with Torridon (including members Kenny Smith and Cammy) singing the Cup Final song on Dingwall High Street as local school children, shoppers and local councillors danced away! Interviewed live across the world both Kenny and Cammy both spoke of their excitement at being County fans looking forward to the cup final and also the amazing experience of performing the clubs official cup final song! Sky's coverage continued with the team leaving Dingwall Academy and Dingwall High Street as the locals wished them all the best. The evening Scottish New Channels featured Kenny and other County fans making plenty noise outside the Mallard in Dingwall while BBC featured our member Craig Maclean speaking about the absolute shock of knowing if we won the final we'd be in Europe! Can you believe what it would be like playing Juventus in Dingwall???

Torridon record their Scottish Cup Final song to a live audience at Ironworks in Inverness
27 April 2010

Local Ross County supporting band Torridon, including Inverness Supporters Club members Kenny Smith and Matthew Cameron recorded Ross County's official Scottish Cup Final song at Ironworks, Inverness. Lots of County fans turned up with club colours and flags to record the backing noise. The band played live wearing their kilts and Ross County tops using the lyrics below to the tune of the Proclaimers "I'm On My Way".
"Were On Our Way" by Torridon
We're on our way, From Dingwall down to Hampden Park today.
We're on our way, From Dingwall down to Hampden Park today.
We're on our way, you'll see us and you'll hear us sing
Ten Thousand fans all roaring we'll be coming
And years from now we'll ponder our great victory
and stand together all proud to be a staggie
It's time to show, It's time to show what we can do again
It's time to show, It's time to show what we can do again
It's time to show that County are the real deal
Cause we can win the Scottish Cup Final
And send a message to all the clubs in Europe
That they'll be crying, crying in their mammy's soup
Lets hear the Staggies roar "oo to be (Oh a Staggie)
We're in the cup final and we're "sitting on top of the world"
I'll sing my best, I'll sing my best for County on the day
I'll sing my best, I'll sing my best for County on the day
We know the boys will give everything the have to
to win for Adams, The Fans and macgregor too
They'll make us proud, give us everything we ask for
win or loose, we're gonna cause and uproar
Lets hear the Staggies roar "oo to be (Oh a Staggie)
We're in the cup final and we're "sitting on top of the world"
We're on our way, From Dingwall down to Hampden Park today.
We're on our way, From Dingwall down to Hampden Park today.
We're on our way, you'll see us and you'll hear us sing
Ten Thousand fans all roaring we'll be coming
And years from now we'll ponder our great victory
and stand together all proud to be a staggie.
The song was released a week before the Scottish Cup Final and reached number 25 in the Scottish Charts and 15 in the UK Independent chart. A marvellous achievement plus the band played live on Sky and National news programmes and the song was played over the tannoy at Hampden Park prior to kick off on cup final day which increased the amazing atmosphere!

Ross County management team presented with award for a successful season!
26 April 2010

Ross County won their final home game of the season 2-1 tonight against Morton thanks to a last minute Andy Barrowman strike. Following the game the players met the shirt sponsors for the season and our members Ally Gault and Joan Mitchell attended to collect the shirt autographed personally by our sponsored player Stuart Kettlewell. At the same time we took advantage of the evening to thank the management team for the most outstanding season in Ross County's history. The Inverness Supporters Club made special awards to the teams management team in recognition of their outstanding work getting to the Scottish Cup Final and doing so well in the league all season. Club treasurer Joan Mitchell made the presentation to manager Derek Adams (above) and his assistant Craig Brewster (below).

Annual Player of the Year Dance 2010 at Crown Court Hotel, Inverness
24 April 2010

Our annual player of the year dance was initially planned for 10th April but postponed due to playing Celtic in the Scottish Cup Semi Final. However it took place tonight at the new venue of the Crown Court Hotel, Inverness and turned into a fantastic night for the small crowd present!
Ross County staff and three players attended following the Partick Thistle home match and Michael Gardyne recieved his Player of the Year Award and Garry Wood his Young Player of the Year award. Also in attendance was midfielder and our sponsored player this season Stuart Kettlewell. It was fantastic to have the players in attendance and we appreciate them coming very much especially with the clubs massive fixture backlog meaning the players having little time to themselves!
There was a buffet and then a dance till the small hours with The Impact playing and entertaining us all. The Impact even played a special track for us fans reminding us of our success at Hampden a fortnight ago - a nice touch by the musicans! Thanks to all member and friends for turning out and thanks to the Ross County players and staff for attending at a busy time for everyone at the club!

A draw away to Airdrie ends our Championship challenge - now for the Cup Final!
17 April 2010

A small number of club members made their way to Airdrie by train and met another member down in the area on business to watch this match. The amount of games in hand have caught up with County and today's draw, one in a long line of draw's saw our championship challenge fizzle out. After a lacklustre first half Steven Craig had us cheering when he knocked the ball into the empty Airdrie net but a late penalty saw the points shared. We can't be disappointed - its been an amazing season with us up in the top area of the league all season but the amount of draw's we've had has meant we won't win the league. Our Highland rivals will win the league now - but our team is playing for Scottish Cup final places now - we're going back to Hampden!!!

When dreams come true - we've knocked Celtic out of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park!

Ross County fans, over 7000 made their way to Hampden Park for the clubs first ever Scottish Cup Semi Final. 50 members of our club took a block booking on the train and left at 0645 in expectation of a day out at the national stadium against one of the top teams in the country and a team who've won the Scottish Cup over 35 times! There was plenty of singing from the County fans going south on the train and we mixed with Celtic supporters on the Glasgow Central to Mt Florida train journey. A quick drink in the Clockwork Brewery beside Hampden was followed by a great atmosphere inside the stadium as we enjoyed our day in the sun. The team started well but still we didn't think we'd win. The longer the game went on - it was only going to be us that won! Steven Craig scored an amazing goal after a long run at the Celtic defence and he dived full length below the County support who were in a frenzy! Late in the game Jimmy Scott tapped in from an Andy Barrowman cross and we were in dreamland. Words can't describe the fact we had just beaten Celtic and our wee team would be playing in the Scottish Cup Final next month! A day we never thought we'd ever see! There was tears shed as the emmotion got the better of us. The players celebrated on the pitch below us after the match. There was high spirits all the way north on the train home too. An unforgettable day! Well done Ross County!

The big games continue with long time league leaders Dundee knocked off their perch in Dingwall!
27 March 2010

A bus load of Inverness based County fans headed through for the third massive game in Dingwall in a week when long time league leaders Dundee came visiting. Cheered on by another big crowd the team never gave up despite going behind and eventually drew 1-1 with substitute Steven Craig scoring the vital goal. Despite a busy week the team remain undefeated and have plenty of games in hand on the other teams around them. We left in better spirits than the Dundee supporters and only one team was trying to win the game at the end with Derek Adams playing four strikers at the end in an attempt to claim all three points!

The greatest night in Dingwall as County get to Scottish Cup Semi Finals!

A sold out Victoria Park was bouncing all night as the team produced on the park and knocked SPL high fliers Hibernian out of the Scottish Cup with a 2-1 win in the replay! Prior to the game our supporters club and other County fans enjoyed the pubs around the stadium with the Hibs fans in fine voice. However it was County fans who were noisy all night and us who went home celebrating! Goals from Garry Wood and a last minute Scott Boyd effort won the game for County in front of a massive Highland crowd and an incredibly noisy Jail End! Ballons and noise greeted the teams as they came onto the park and County pummelled Hibs in the first half with no reward for their efforts. The second half started badly with Hibs scoring early on but County fought back to win - a great comeback! It was the best feeling in the world to win the game and a pitch invasion of over exhuberent supporters afterwards ran on to the Victoria Park pitch to swamp their hereos! The atmosphere was electric all night and the scenes amazing as we won through to our first ever semi final at Hampden Park. The small matter of Celtic await us in the semi final which is being screened live on Sky Sports across the nation!

Still undeated in Highland derbies this season after no score draw in Dingwall!
20 March 2010
After a pulsating Scottish Cup tie last Saturday this week we welcomed Highland rivals ICT to Dingwall and a massive crowd of almost 6000 watched a no scoring draw. The bus left as usual from Inverness and the Dingall pubs were busy pre match with plenty of singing between the rival fans. A great first half saw us in complete command but failing to score. The second half was a poor game but we should be considered unlucky to draw as ICT had just one shot on goal the whole game while we had plenty and we were the only team pressing at the end. After a share of the spoils both sets of fans with home in a better league position with table toppers Dundee being beaten 3-0 to ensure the title race continues!

History made in Ross County's first ever Scottish Cup Quarter Final appearance!
13 March 2010
.JPG)
Our sold out weeks ago bus today took us to Edinburgh for Ross County's historic first ever Scottish Cup Quarter Final appearance against Hibernian a side we'd never met competitively before. The bus left Inverness with our fans optomistic of putting up a good show against a quality SPL side and everyone was in good spirits! We headed for Middletons Bar pre match in Leith near the stadium. The journey down was good crack and our members amongst a sold out 1,600 away support behind the goal enjoyed a cracking game with us singing the roof of the stand! County fell behind twice but both times came back to draw 2-2 with Hibernian with Michael Gardyne's shot cannoning off Hibs defender Ian Murray for our first goal and wee Midge making sure himself with a second half shot into the bottom corner to ensure massive celebrations behind the goal. County almost won it in the final few moments with a shot being cleared off the line and a great save from Hibs goalkeeper. County fans applauded their team off the park with the entire side clapping the noisy away fans in mutual adminiration. A great performance from the team and supporters - now we welcome Hibernian back to Dingwall for the replay where the winner will play Scottish giant's Celtic in the semi final at Hampden Park. The journey home included an hour's trip to the great 208 Bar in Perth and there was quite a lot of members with amnesia on the road north from Perth to Inverness! This was widly considered to be possibly the best day out ever with Ross County - the team played brilliant against an SPL team and the fans thorougly enjoyed their day out! At night the highlights of the game were featured on BBC's Sportscene and the Inverness Supporters Club banner was prominent on the telly beside the Easter Road scoreboard!

County get to our first ever Scottish Cup Quarter Final with a great 9-0 home victory!
06 February 2010

Ross County met Second Division title chaser Stirling Albion in good form and we expected a victory but to win by the margin we did at home was amazing. Cheered on by members of our club and the rest of the County home support it was raining goals in Dingwall as a hatrick from striker Garry Wood, two from Michael Gardyne and others from Alex Keddie, Richard Brittian, Stuart Kettlewell and Scott Morrison ensured County made history for qualifying for our first ever Scottish Cup Quarter Final match. The supporters were able to relive the action on BBC Sportscene at night as all the cup goals were televised and we look forward to a massive cup game and our first competitive meeting ever with SPL high fliers Hibernian next month!

A memorable win at Dens Park to keep the title race tight!
30 January 2010

Ross County were nine points behind runaway league leaders Dundee at the start of play today and we have three games in hand! A number of our members made our way to Dens on the train for the big match! County players were fantastic and cut the Dundee lead at the top to six points with a Paul Lawson goal ensuring a 1-0 victory! Three games in hand and just six points in it it certainly keeps the title race close. County fans are in dreamland - what a result and we certainly made plenty of noise and enjoyed the trip!

County progress in Scottish Cup and our supporters club featured in match programme
28 November 2009

Ross County progressed in the Third Round of the Scottish Cup by beating Third Divison Berwick Rangers 5-1. A double from Paul Di Giacomo and goals from Paul Lawson, Steven Craig and Garry Wood saw us progress comfortably to the next round draw where we are to meet Highland League Club Inverurie Locos for the first time competitively. Our supporters club was featured in the programme for todays game with the launch of the website advertised with a full page spread! Thanks to programme editors at Ross Media for giving us such a plug!!

Members attend Scotland match in Cardiff and see former County captain start for the national team!
14 November 2009

Three members of the Inverness Ross County Supporters Club made the trip to Cardiff with the tartan army. They met former County captain Don Cowie and former on loan midfielder Charlie Adam in the team hotel prior to the match and had shirts signed by them and their Scotland team mates. It was great to see Don Cowie start the match for Scotland in his second cap but the game was a nightmare and Scotland lost 3-0 to an ordinary Welsh side. Scotland manager George Burley was sacked after the game! Well done to Chipper Cowie though - its only two and a half years since he ran out at Victoria Park and now he's played for Scotland. Great for the Ross County Youth Academy and Highland football in general! While these members were in Cardiff other supporters were in Ayr as County drew 1-1 to remain in third place in the Scottish First Division.

Another celebration as we again beat local Highland rivals Inverness CT before a massive crowd in Dingwall!
07 November 2009

.JPG)

Highland neighbours and fierce rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle came to Dingwall having not lost an away match all season! Despite their good record County had been above them in the league the whole season! The record went as County produced a great performance to win 2-1 and the bragging rights from another Highland derby! Goals from Scott Boyd and Michael Gardyne took the three points to the home side, had the crowd of 5,500 (the highest at Victoria Park for many a long year) celebrating and the bus and fans afterwards enjoyed a great trumiph. The atmopshere in the Jail End was fablous throughout with County fans singing louder than ever before! Two Highland league derbies this season - two County wins!
Following the game Ross County chairman Dave Siegel thanked the club's supporters. The Staggies chief was bowled over by the fans and their backing for the team when winning the Highland derby in Irn Bru Division One. Siegel said: "On behalf of the club, can I say a huge thank you to our supporters - they are simply the best. From kick-off, all the way through the match they were tremendous and there's no doubt that they helped urge the team on to victory. "Our fans, at the top of their voices, make Victoria Park an intimidating stadium for any team to visit. They are our 12th man and we thank them for their excellent continued backing."

Our Former Player of the Year Don Cowie becomes a Scotland International in Japan!
10 October 2009

.JPG)
Members were delighted to see former Ross County captain Don Cowie make his Scotland debut today in their friendly international in Japan. Cowie came through the ranks at Ross County from a young boy to captain the team before moving onto SPL football and currently plays for Watford in the English Championship. He was our clubs Player of the Year in 2007 and Young Player of the Year in 2005. Many members of our club also follow Scotland with the tartan army so were delighted to see an old friend pulling on the famous dark blue jersey! Don or "Chipper" as he is known came on as a substitute at half time and had an encouraging debut with his pass puting striker Steven Fletcher straight through on goal but unfortunately the goalkeeper save his effort. Scotland lost 2-0 but us County fans are very proud of Chipper's rise to Scotland international football! Also playing for Scotland day alongside Chipper was former County loan signing Charlie Adam. Its only five years since the Challenge Cup Final on 7 November 2004 when both Cowie and Adam played together for County. Now they are playing for Scotland together - quite anachievement for the club we support!

An outstanding away trip to Dundee except for the result!
26 September 2009
.JPG)
.JPG)
With the recession in full swing the club's members made the decision to use the train rather than the bus for their first away match of the season. With this it meant there was no loss on the high cost of away buses. Fifteen members made their way to Dundee via Perth on the train. An excellent day ensured with the exception of the final result! It was a good laugh and sing song on the way south and then a few drinks in the friendly Whites Bar. The match went wrong early when two key players were stretchered off after only 20 minutes. We lost the game 2-0 but the County fans made plenty of noise throughout! After two weeks at the top of the league we were not knocked off top spot but only by a point and we are still ahead of the league favourites and our local rivals!!! On the way back we enjoyed the hospitality of the Perth City Supporters Club and enjoyed a great laugh and sing song with rival Dundee and Dundee United supporters on the way home!

First Highland Derby in 5 Years and we thrash ICT 3-1!!

The vocal County support were superb throughout and the team performance fantastic as they swept aside the hot favourites! We've got the bragging rights for the next couple of months in the derby stakes!

01 August 2009

A great start to the season watched by a bus load of our members. Ross County beat Montrose 5-0 in the First Round of the CIS Insurance League Cup at Victoria Park. Members witnessed the 1000th league goal scored by the club since they joined the league in 1994 when substitute John Stewart scored County's final goal of the game (Stewarts only goal for the club!) The home crowd cheered a piece of history in Dingwall!

09 May 2009

Ross County beat Morton in Greenock on the final day of the season to ensure the club remained in the Scottish First Division next season. A loss could have meant the club being involved in a relegation play off but the team produced the goods and the fans turned up the volume and really cheered the team on to victory. Many members of the Inverness Supporters Club were at the match amongst the noisy travelling supporters and left elated!

The Challenge Cup final ends in agony losing to Airdrie Utd on Penalties!
16 November 2008

Two full buses left Inverness for the cup final at McDiarmid Park, Perth today and we had a great lunch at the 208 Pub opposite the stadium. The crack was great with County fans singing the roof off the pub! That continued inside the stadium and we cheered our team on. The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes our goal from an Airdrie own goal but we had plenty of chances overselves. Sean Higgins had us ahead in extra time but a later equaliser put the game to penalties and unfortunatley it didn't fall our way. Our third Challenge Cup final in five years but unfortnately we only won once! The bus on the way back was still good crack with plenty of singing and that continued in the pubs of Inverness on arrival home!

Having led the league for most of the season we became Second Division champions today! A resounding 4-0 victory over Berwick Rangers at home through goals from Shields, Lawson and two from Andy Barrowman ensured three points for us. Everyone was listening to radio's and when other results went our way we discovered we were league champions and straight back up to the First Division after just one season away! Our first Scottish League fixture against old Highland League foes Peterhead!

County fans enjoyed mixing with Peterhead fans today in the Second Division, our first meeting on league duty since 1994 in the old Highland League days. As usual, our supporters bus well known for transporting away fans through to Dingwall for matches took through a couple of the Blue Toon fans! But we were celebrating having won 1-0 through a Sean Higgins strike!
Annual General Meeting at Royal British Legion Club, Inverness
10 July 2007

This years AGM had been postponed from last month when only a small turnout attended and it was felt prudent to get a new date. The AGM went ahead tonight with a good turnout of members. A new committee was formed as Craig Maclean stepped down as secretary after four years in the post due to work commitments. He was replaced as secretary by Matthew "Cammy" Cameron with Kenny Smith (Chairman), Joan Mitchell (Treasurer) and Dougie Anderson (Bus Convenour) remaining in post to ensure continuity. This coming season we will be sponsoring the jersey of County striker Sean Higgins. Thanks to member Ally Gault for his support of this initiative and lets hope Higgi bangs in the goals as usual!

The saddest day in history - Ross County are relegated for the first time!
28 April 2007
.JPG)
A final game against Gretna at home in Dingwall and it was hard to take. It would have taken a miracle to keep us in the league but a final day win may have done it for us! However it wasn't to be. Other results were against us from 3pm onwards and we knew we were heading for relegation. The fact Gretna scored a last minute goal to win the league made all the harder for us. Come the final whistle we were all sad at going down while Gretna's team and fans celebrated. Our first ever relegation and lets hope we never have to go through it again! A while later a helicopter arrived and presented Gretna with the First DIvision Championship trophy and they celebrated as we cried!

42 Scottish Football Stadiums in 24 hours
15 December 2006

Save Our Staggies organised a fundraising and promotional mini bus tour round the Scottish League's 42 football stadiums in a day! A couple of members from the Inverness Supporters Club enjoyed the visit to every stadium in the country! Ross County win their first major Scottish League Honour - the Scottish Challenge Cup!
12 November 2006

Ross County fans the length and breadth of the country are celebrating as the team won its first major trophy since joining the Scottish League in 1994! The Challenge Cup was won today at McDiarmid Park, Perth when we defeated Clyde on penalties after a 1-1 full time score after County defender Andy Dowie's header produced our only goal. The hero in the penalty shoot out was young Jason Crooks who kept his cool to win us the cup with the final penalty!
Prior to the match our supporters club had two buses head south and we met our good friends the Clyde supporters in the 208 Bar opposite the ground. Its a shame there had a be a loser in an even match but the Clyde fans still came and congratulated us after the match. A great day and a great victory for Ross County - a day never to be forgotten for us supporters!

Annual General Meeting at Royal British Legion Club, Inverness
28 June 2006

There was a good turnout of members for this years AGM and the chairman Kenny Smith thanked everyone for their support over the season and to everyone who helps raise money for the club through raffles, lottery ticket sales and by attending the POY dance which was again a great success. The secretary reported there had been 45 paid up members last year which was lower than the normal 60 and members were tasked with increasing the membership if possible. There had been a turnover of £6200 over the season and the clubs profits were down slightly but this was due to the club giving £500 to Ross County when they announced their financial difficulties which was the least we could do to support our club! The committee remained unchanged from last year however a fourth committee member position was added with Derek Fraser welcomed onto the committee.
Long time bus convernour Dougie Anderson was presented with an Honary Life Membership from the club by chairman Kenny Smith and local papers attended to photograph the presentation.
It was agreed not to increase bus or membership fee's and a discussion took place regarding the buying of a sponsored player for the coming season. Our finances are tighter this year but with the support of Dingwall based member Ally Gault it was agreed this would continue as normal as it was great publicity for our club! Ally was warmly thanked for his kind gesture.
16 members had attended hospitality at Ross County last year at matches through the sale of lottery tickets. This may not happen so often in future with the clubs financial position being unsure and members were happy that as long as the football club survived then we could take a break from attending hospitality. We agreed to sponsor County captain Don Cowie's jersey for the coming season with thanks to Ally Gault for supporting this initiative on behalf of our supporters club!

A high scoring draw on our away trip to Brechin City
18 March 2006

A long bus journey proved great crack to Brechin and we saw an entertaining but also frustrating high scoring draw! We left Inverness and popped into the usual haunt on the way south at the 208 Bar in Perth for refreshments. Then it was over to Brechin and a quick visit to the pub across from the ground before watching a 3-3 draw between our hosts and County from the side of the famous Brechin hedge that runs the length of the field! Goals from Zadi, Webb and Winters meant a share of the points for us in a high scoring but also frustrating game as we missed a host of chances. A long journey home but the best of crack on the bus!

Annual General Meeting at Royal British Legion Club, Inverness
05 July 2005

There was a smaller than normal turnout for the clubs AGM at the Royal British Legion Club, Inverness. It was reported to members that bus monies had been slightly lower than usual the past season but hospitality at Ross County matches had been excellent. Chairman Nicky Power had decided to step down due to work commitments and Treasurer Iain MacDonald decided to retire and both were thanked for their work on behalf of the club over the past two years. A new committee was elected as follows:
Chairman - Kenny Smith
Secretary - Craig Maclean
Treasurer - Joan Mitchell
Bus Convenour - Dougie Anderson
Committee Members - Matthew Cameron, Gregg Hunter and Stewart Maclennan.
The club accounts showed an £8000 turnover through the year with the lottery and raffle bringing in continued revenue and the buses making a slight loss but the revenue made helped soak this up. The club also contributed to the Kenny Gilbert Testiomonial Fund over the year which was a good gesture. Communication within the club had improved signficantly It was agreed not to increase membership or bus fees for the coming season. The previous two seasons we had bought a ticket for the Box Bonaza Draw at Ross County to put something back into the club. With this ceasing it was agreed we would sponsor a Ross County player instead and we are the proud sponsors of County captain and centre half Jim Lauchlan for the coming season! The club had purchased pennants which were now on sale for a fiver and it was agreed some money would be put aside to make merchandise for sale for members. With the law changing regarding smoking in public places next year the meeting agreed unamiously to implement no smoking on all our buses with immediate effect.

Similarly we head down for most Clyde away matches and met them in a nearby pub for a meet up and a sing song. Today the Clyde Programme featuring the above article.
"Not often many opposing fans can boast a healthy relationship but over the past years the Gypsy Army has formed an excellent rapport (I suspect the demon brew as the common denominator) with the Inverness Ross County Supporters Club based at the Tarry Ile Bar in Inverness. This small but loyal band of supporters that include Dougie, Taffy, Squeak etc always give the Clyde lads a true Highland welcome when we travel north so lads a huge thanks and Slainthe!!
