May Venues for Inverness LM Meeting for Worship: May 5^th MfW will be at the Tree House, and we hope to begin holding regular MfW there from 2^nd June.  12^th May will be at WASPS, and 19^th & 26^th  at Merkinch

Draft agenda MfW for business Tuesday May 7^th 2024 at 10.00am: to deal with some small necessary business items. It will be on line, link to come on 6^th May.  Please attend if you can, our Quaker processes are important.  Draft agenda includes:

• A request to sign up to Discovering Quakers online, so that new enquirers in our area will be directed to us
• A grant for fees and travel for Quaker Senior Conference
• Appointments for Inverness LM including possible future clerking arrangements.
• Arrangements for NSQAM on May 18^th including outline of George Fox exhibition
• New venue for MfW in Inverness
• Possible MfW for worship in Golpsie

WASPS Parking
From Monday 15th April WASPS  carpark will not be accessible for a period of up to 3 weeks and they  will close and padlock the gate on the evening of Sunday 14th April.

NSAM additional meeting on April 2nd at 7.00 pm on ZOOM, link here Papers include NSAM minutes 22nd March; AM original comments and responses of the draft governing document for QiS; later comments from Sylvia thomson.  The MOU on Property and Annual Report and Accounts will be taken at  AM on 18th May

Special GM on April 6^th (online only).  This is an extra meeting to give us time to discern where we are on the proposals for a single charity and body for Quakers in Scotland. All four of our Area Meetings are responding in preparation for this meeting and minutes are included here (or will be sent later). Please find attached the agenda and papers.  The Clerks also suggest reading this account of how we got to here

You will need to register to access the Zoom meeting. Some local meetings or groups of Friends may be arranging to meet together physically to take part in this GM, through a video link together. It would be very helpful if a clerk/someone from the group lets the GM clerk know if this is happening and numbers if you know them. This will help in forming breakout groups.

Save the dates:

• NSAM Area Meeting on May 18th in Inverness using the Methodists' Meeting room.   We will be marking the 400th anniversary of George Fox. We have been invited to share in a combined service of Pentecost on Sunday 19th. This will be a time to reflect on the Spirit moving and working in the World and Quakers will be contributing to the service. On Friday 17th, 7.30pm, there will be a ceilidh hosted by Highland Supports Refugees. 
• AM at Pluscarden in August (30th to 1st Sept.) the theme will be 'Hope as a Practice' with Woodbrooke Where You Are facilitating the programme. We are looking for Friends willing to support our Young Friends and Children's Meeting, so you are invited to bring your name forward. Thank you. All-age worship on the Sunday will be in Pluscarden Village Hall.

OPTIONS FOR SCOTLAND: Information and discussion on the possibility of forming a single body for Quakers in Scotland

The Quakers in Scotland Coordinating Group (QiS-CG) is holding two online information and discussion sessions on progress with work towards having a single body and charity for Quakers in Scotland, to help Friends prepare for the special General Meeting that will be considering this on Saturday April 6th.

Advance Notice: 1st March World Day of Prayer We are urged to  take part, and to be seen participating, with people of good will from all Christian denominations and none in the World Day of Prayer on Friday 1 March.  The service was prepared by the women of Palestine, and calls for us all to “bear with one another in love” – a particularly poignant call given the situation in their home land. Details attached, there are services in the day and the evening, which can be found by consulting www.wdpscotland.org.uk – at the top of the home page there is a link to Service arrangements 2024, where you can find what is being held in your local area.
